The Mark of Isilee gradually wells up a deep and sinister story following on from the Gone Dragon first book in the series - growing to phenomenal events amongst which the main characters have genuine challenges both external and internal to overcome. I love the human nature of the main characters in this book who are written as driven but never perfect as people and I found myself deeply immersed in many critical chapters. Well worth the read and I look forward to the next one.
