Lani is back in Hana, but the traveling Paul Kent exhibition and the search for her biological mother Luana don’t give her much time to relax. She is immediately torn into a whirlwind of glamorous gallery openings in Oahu and the Big Island with charismatic art dealer William and almost falls for his charm. Will Max forgive her? And will they be able to finish renovating the house in Hana on time while someone is stealing the building supplies and builder Joseph McAllen is still threatening to buy all the land around Hamoa Beach? Finally, Lani and Luana travel to the 1000 Islands and find an even bigger surprise…
After translating many "chick-flick" scripts for the TV industry for the past twenty years, Birgitt decided that it's time to write about her own ideas. In her spare time, Birgitt enjoys obsessively collecting orchids and spending time with her husband, two teenage sons, their three crazy hounds and beloved cats.
I read the first book in this trilogy and thoroughly enjoyed it. When Imfinished reading the first book I quickly downloaded #2. I wondered if Lani would meet her bio Mom. Lani does meet her bio Mom and both of them travel to the 1,000 islands to meet Paul Kent’s mother. To their surprise they also meet Paul Kent! He tells them his “so called” death story. Now I can’t wait to find out what happens in book #3 and how does this trilogy end. Easy reading and it will keep your interest til the end!
I like this book…this trilogy…really I do. But…. So many unanswered questions and details not given. My questions…. SPOILER ALERT
Why doesn’t the author describe the meeting between Max and Lani’s parents? What about between Lani’s adoptive parents and Paul and Luana? Or what happens with Launa is reunited with her parents after 30 years? No discussion about this seemed lacking.

Birgitt what did you do to me. The tears won't stop. What an amazing book 2 of the series. Have to wait to start book 3, and I can't wait to see what is gonna happen. I'm so glad I discovered you.
I'm not telling anything that happened you will have to read for yourself. I know you will because you have already read book 1 which left in a cliffhanger. Bring the tissues....
I love her , she tells a beautiful story without=sex and she doesn’t take Gods name in vain . There is so many writers don’t seem to be capable of doing what she does. I am ever grateful for her telling a beautiful story without all the garbage. She is an amazing storyteller
I thought the first book was good, BUT THE SECOND?!?! Oh my gosh. It truly shows you the true Aloha spirit and just how important Maui’s history is. Just like the first book, the amount of suspense was PERFECT. I can’t wait to read the next one.
I sure enjoy the happy ending. This was such a creative story. This was even better than the first book and I can’t wait to read book 3. Mahalo for the great escape reading in my Kindle Bubble. Robert Ericksen
