Mercies in Disguise: Johann & Lily

Rate this book
GOD’S GREATEST BLESSINGS COME IN UNEXPECTED WAYS

Johann Brandtstadter returns home a weary man, tired of the bloodshed and horror that war brings. When he finds a dear childhood friend grown into young womanhood, he cannot help but claim her for his own. At the turn of the twentieth century, life is changing and not necessarily for the better. Can Johann and his young bride find a safe place to call home despite the tension and mayhem of a world on the brink of war?

"Mercies in Disguise" is a prequel to the OUT OF AFRICA series and follows the journey of Johann and Lily Brandtstadter from their German Fatherland to the shores of America.

My name is Michele Pollock Dalton; and, I am an unapologetic romantic.

Although I have been writing since early childhood, I have only recently overcome my reticence about sharing the stories that I create.

Most days are spent wheeling around after a remarkable little boy that I love with all my heart. And, sometimes I put my domestic goddess skills to work, so we don't have to run around naked =)

White chocolate truffles and faith fuel my writing endeavors; and, my sincere hope is that the characters I invent resonate with folks who need a bit of inspiration to face their day

totally loved this book.

This book was awesome. It was great to read Lilly and Johann's story.
It was also very encouraging to see what they had gone through, and came out of it, still believing in and loving the Lord. The viruses in this story, were an ironic echo to what's happening at the moment.
Even though it was a short story, the characters were still very well developed.
Some of the gaps were filled in so to speak.
It helps explain how Lilly is so strong and mature in her faith.
It was also interesting how the Bramdt name came to be.
I am highly recommending this book, and the rest of the series.
Can't wait to read more.
