Good book and life resource guide. The context and guidance are practical, relatable and empowering. Some of it may seem obvious, but I guarantee many of us have not applied these principles despite knowing them. I felt a little convicted in a few areas and can see how I have control to change many things. Not everyone will be ready to receive the advice or willing to change things and there are some circumstances in life, physical and mental health challenges that are not in our control. But I appreciate the challenge to be optimistic.

The speed that she records it in may be great for some.
I sped it up to 1.5 x and you really get the motivational speaker affect which is fantastic when you need a boost. But when she provides exercise instructions, the speed helps my ADHD mind focus on the details.

She recommends reading it completely then come back and apply the exercises. I do agree with this but challenge readers to attempt the exercises the first time through then be more intentional the second time around. I imagine I will have to focus on specific sections to really make changes in all of the suggested areas. However, I can truly say that learning to truly love yourself and care enough to do the “hard things” for yourself is key. Especially if you’re a people pleaser like me who finds it easy to care for others but equally difficult to apply the same care to myself.

I highly recommend this book to anyone truly seeking to make changes to “live your best life.”
