Emerging Young Architecture: Hans Heinrich Müller Prize 2004

Rate this book
Preserving the past while moving with changing tides is a challenge to today's architects and urbanists. Bewag, a Berlin energy supply company, issued the Hans-Heinrich-Mller-Prize competition as part of a campaign to preserve the cultural legacy of its industrial buildings. It was awarded in 2004 for concepts for the revitalisation of transformer station Wilhelmsruh, one of its most imposing and architecturally impressive complexes. Documented here is a wide range of innovative and often surprising ideas developed by prospective architects and monument conservationists. All competition entries are included, as well as an overall picture of various possible concepts for reuse.
