A very good book for people thinking about getting more advanced birds. This lays out the basics in a concise way, but still encourages you to do your own research and doesn't shy away from what you'll be getting yourself into. This author also has his own website with even more helpful links. I'm not looking to own a parrot myself but I work in the pet care business and I am always looking to improve my own knowledge for customers that may have more difficult questions. It's good to know that some basic care guides exist with ACCURATE and up to date information on how large birds should properly be housed and interacted with. They are a commitment and should be considered as carefully as one plans for a child.
