I wake up in Hades with no clue how to get back home or why I’m even here. Being here alone would have been easier than finding Cathy, another Demon Hunter beside me.
It doesn’t take long until some of my questions are answered. Nicolas Frost is here, the man who tried to kill me. I’m dragged across Hades, narrowly missing death and torture only to arrive at Nicolas’s domain where I finally find out what I’m doing here.
To save my home, I must ally myself with enemies— that’s hoping I stay alive long enough to do so.
Time is running out, my decisions will be final, and this time I can’t see a way to stop the apocalypse…

M.A. Roth lives in Ireland, has two leprechauns and a hawthorn tree in her back garden, which she guards day and night against the mischief fairy folk.
When she's off duty she loves to write, read and drink tons of coffee. Oh, and she eat's lots of chocolate, LOTS of chocolate!
Abigail and Cathy find themselves in Hell after falling into the tree of life. Now they must find a way out. But with a talking cat and demons after them this may prove impossible to do.
After they escape from a house they were lured into, Abigail calls Daniel to save Cathy. After saving Cathy, Daniel is to weak to fight off Nicholas Frost, who has come after Abigail again. As Abigail journeys with Nicholas, he reveals to her that he needs her in an upcoming war to keep Hell from taking over Middle-Earth, which is where humans live. Abigail doesn't believe Nicholas, but yet she realizes he believes what he is saying.
Once they reach Nicholas' home and Abigail has recovered from their journey there Nicholas decides that her training needs to begin. Abigail still does not believe that she is needed to fight in any upcoming battles. When word reaches Nicholas that there is another like Abigail in Hell, they go to try to get him and bring him back to Nicholas' home. Abigail, however, is looking to use this as a way to flee from Nicholas and search for her mother whom is somewhere in Hell after committing suicide.
Abigail manages to get away from Nicholas and finds herself in a worse situation when she is captured by a group and is coerced into sitting on a throne and releasing the serpent of Hell. Lucifer, Abigail's father arrives and makes short work of the group but before he can turn his attention to Abigail, Nicholas manages to get her out.
Nicholas discovers that Abigail is still human during this and is intent on taking her back to Middle-Earth to hide her and keep her safe. Abigail still wants to find her mother. Is Abigail's journey in Hell over? Or has it just began?
I thought this book was better than the first, however, Abigail is still the self-centered, spoiled brat I found her to be in the first book.

My oh my oh my! It was one huge mess. I mean it was crazy, completely crazy. The world is crazy, they way in which hell is working is crazy, everything seems crazy (I even needed to check with myself if it’s not me that is getting crazy 😂). I felt lost more than once, lost in this organized idea which seems unorganized. Getting bigger picture and looking through all of it after finishing the book makes you finally understand more. But still there is so many things i can’t quite place. Some things got barely on theirs heads. I loved it and hated it, I understood it and I didn’t, it put me in place I’m not sure I like to be. But it made me feel. Abigail is not a perfect main character, far from it. She keep to taking wrong decision, acting on wrong impulses, doing the wrong thing. She is angry, on world, on Nicolas, on everyone and everything. It got 4 stars instead of 5 just because I had troubles to get into it, because it was hard to wrap my mind around all of informations and rules that are running this world.
I loved the first book in this series. This second book was ok but not nearly as captivating as the first. Abigail is a self destructive young girl who has had a horrible life but doesn’t realize there are things she doesn’t remember. In book one she was not unlikable, just troubled and damaged. In this book she’s just unlikable and frankly whiny and annoying.
I didn’t like Nicholas at first, but as she became more irritating, he became more understandable. I’m hoping book three clears up a lot of the confusion of this book because there were a lot of things that didn’t make sense to me.
While I didn’t love this one, I enjoyed reading it. It was a bit too short for my liking but I know this author will make the conclusion worth the wait.
