Author of Urban Chick Lit, Erotica, and Contemporary Urban Fiction... Jessica N. Watkins was born April 1st in Chicago, Illinois. She obtained a Bachelors of Arts with Focus in Psychology from DePaul University and Masters of Applied Professional Studies with focus in Business Administration from the like institution. Working in Hospital Administration for the majority of her career, Watkins has also been an author of fiction literature since the young age of nine. Eventually she used writing as an outlet during her freshmen year of high school as a single parent: “In the third grade I entered a short story contest with a fiction tale of an apple tree that refused to grow despite the efforts of the darling main character. My writing evolved from apple trees to my seventh and eighth grade classmates paying me to read novels I had written about kids our age living the lives our parents wouldn’t dare let us”. At the age of twenty-eight, Watkins’ chronicles have matured into steamy, humorous, and realistic tales of women's literature. She hopes that The Epitome of Femistry series will successfully emulate ideal femininity while tackling stereotypes, familiar heartache, and relatable distress in a humorous, sophisticated, and erotic fashion.

“Trouble Don’t Last Always” 🗣️A WORD!!

Whew it may not last always but it lasted for a good lil while with Snow and Zo. Just when they finally found their footing and were finally “on top” life reminded them they weren’t fkn with no puppy! They were playing big dog games and it took blow after blow for them to realize that they were in the big leagues.

Secrets were revealed and snakes were exposed. Dumb decisions were made that nearly cost them but in the end we received all the answers we were looking for and the HEA everyone deserved! I would love a spin off on Bae because she was really a rider that deserved all of the joy her heart could hold after what she endured!

This was such a good series! Jessica did her thing per usual and I look forward to my continued exploration of her catalog.

Heart Finally Healed

I must say I am very satisfied with the finale. The highlight for me was Bae getting out of jail and her and Sayyid taking it to the next level. The part when Bae fought off Walt from raping her a second time and when she went to Tristan gravesite to tell him and Snow what happened was like a breath of fresh air and I felt her as I read it. I didn't think it was no coming back for Snow and Zo when what happened between him and Meka came to light, but I did have a feeling she did that to play him and to get what she wanted but it didn't work out like she planned. So happy Killion got off on that murder charge and I think that a$$ whopping he gave Maine brought him back to reality. Mannnnnnn that letter Dawn sent to Stephanie had her acting accordingly when she step back at Sbow and another thing I was so proud of the maturity that Snow gained in this finale. Glad that Danny was released so he could continue being the father figure Snow need because hers isn't there anymore. Great read I enjoyed this series

I absolutely love Jessica N. Watkins!! I read the first Snow a while back and remembered bits and pieces of it, but she did a great job of reminding you what happened in the last book and tied it to the present. The only thing I didn't like about this book was how every few chapters it would skip ahead to either a few days, a week, a month, a few months.. it's hard to tell exactly how much time has passed by since the beginning. Other than that, this was an easy and short read and I love how she ties songs into it (that I definitely looked up during reading). I love you Jessica N. Watkins!!

This was a good series by Jessica Watkins. Snow is the oldest child of her kingpin father and kept mother. When we meet Snow, she's a teenager with two best friends. So many tragic things happen to Snow (and her friends). My heart almost couldn't handle all the tragedy.

On the other side we have Zo who is also getting his ass kicked by life. When we meet Zo he's just getting out of prison for a crime he didn't commit. He has no money, a crazy BM, trifling mom, and a son. Zo quickly becomes homeless. We see him trying to survive on the streets with his young son.

Tragedy brings these two in contact. They eventually become a couple and a force in the cocaine market.

I was completely engrossed in this series. Very good.

I had such a great time from start to finish! There was never a dull moment, and I loved being able to put my feet up and just relax. It reminded me of a fun mix between "The Wire" and "The Chi" all packed into one story. So entertaining! 😌

LONG POST!!

This was a good read. Not as good as part 1 but still a really good read nonetheless. Jessika is an amazing author and she knows just how to bring a story to life.

With that being said, soooo much bad kept happening to Zo and Snow throughout the first book and this book. It was just blow after blow after blow till it got to the point where I was like damn when are we ever going to get to the good part? When is the storm going to over? When are we going to get the romance, the dates, the casual conversations with some cute banter? I felt like so much bad kept happening till it took away from the romance/ love part of the storyline a bit. They weren’t even officially officially back together until like 90% into this book🙃.

I don’t know how I feel about the storyline with Zo and Meka. Zo was a real and thorough man from the start of the first book even with the hands life kept dealing him. He was solid so I don’t understand why the author would have his character not tell Snow and Raheem what happened to him with Meka? He literally did nothing wrong to be “scared” to tell them😕. And talking about Meka I don’t like the fact that Zo being RAPED was just glossed over. That scene made me sick because not only was he inebriated he was still partially paralyzed🤢. I feel like Meka got off too easily. Him not telling snow and his right hand was just not his character so that was odd.

I also feel like we kind of lost some of the plot in a sense. In book 1 them going to college/hbcu was like a part of the storyline. Snow always wanted to go to college and she liked it. She even talked about hoping she would get the chance to go back after everything had happened. Zo talked about not wanting to go back to being in the game so heavily or doing anything that would cause him to go back to jail or away from his son. Their initial start to selling drugs was just to get them on their feet it wasn’t supposed to be permanent. So the fact that by the end of book two we didn’t get Zo opening up a legit business or investing in anything and Snow didn’t go back to school was kind of disappointing. Because by the end of book two Zo was actually deeper in the game.🤦🏾‍♀️

I was so happy for Bae. My girl was going through it lord. Honestly I was happy for everyone in this damn book. Because so much kept happening to these kids. Yes kids. Because they were still teenagers and really young adults. I wish we got some mention of therapy/ counseling. All in all I enjoyed the book. They deserved the happy endings they got and I like how everything was tied up. I liked the fact that Dawn’s side of the story was brought to life and Snow and Killion was able to understand her depression a bit more and take Azu off of the pedestal they had him on while still loving him.

The truth!

As Snow and Zo try to recover from their injuries the road to recovery is long! They say when one thing happens here comes another. Danny family friend and connect is hit by the Feds so Snow and Zo will have a drought if a plan is not thought of. Amy Danny’s wife is only a housewife but she has ideals. As Zo comes out of his coma Snow is soo broken she decides to call if hits. Bae is in jail being harassed by CO Jackson. Trying not to disturb Bae with Jackson’s demands Bae gets into a fight.Sayiid the other CO finds her and is furious . Bae feels a connection with this CO and tells him everything.Bae is patiently waiting on a response for her appeal. As Zo puts himself in a drunken stupor he wakes up to find Meka (his boy Raheems) girlfriend having her way with him? Omg Then she says she is pregnant and she wants 💴 💴 to get rid of it! Trying to keep the peace Zo handles it but the nasty trick is just what it is. Zo and Snow make up and finally good news!!! Before the honeymoon began Snow finds about Meka but the money situation takes her over the edge and she’s done. It gets worse when Raheem finds out. Bae finally gets her appeal and Snow talks with CO Jackson. Sayiid is keeping an eye on Bae. After Zo and Raheem have it out Zo says he is keeping it 💯 with everyone. A plan is reached to get more product, Danny is out and at peace with the decisions. Zo is the HNIC and Snow is cool with that. Well the road is positive now and everyone lives in a better place but it was hell! I will not be a spoil sport but loved, loved this story!!!!

Zo and Snow crossed paths at a time where life had put them in a "Do or Die" situation. Eventhough it was different situations, they both had the good life swept from under their feet. Linking together to get back everything that was taken from them wasn't easy at all. They suffered loss, heartache and betrayal, but in the end, the both of them prevailed.
Bae can definitely use the hashtag "FML" Geesh, things was looking very grim for babyface. I don't believe she could have gotten to the point that she finally reached had it not been for Siyyad. He was definitely good for her.
I really liked the first book of this series. Book two was good, but I feel like something was missing. Almost seems as if got rushed towards the end and some character mix-ups. The only thing I really didn't care for was the redundancy of of different songs throughout the book. Other than that, this was a pretty good read.

Bae finally was released, and I was so ecstatic. I didn't think that Bae was going to get a happy ending, because she had been dealt a very hard hand, but there was light at the end of the tunnel, and I couldn't be happier for her. I'm glad that she had Sayyid was there in the time that he was, because he was her knight in shining armor.

Zo stepped up, and became the man that Snow needed him to be. Besides that one little incident with Meka, he was almost the perfect husband. Zo was there for Snow when she needed him the most, and the love he had for her never waivered. It was like Zo was made for Snow, and his job was to make her happy, and for the most part, he did.

Snow was a really good read. Jessica Watkins did her thing with this one. My heart went out to Snow, Zo and Bae, and I loved each and every one of these characters. My emotions were all over the place in Snow, but I didn't have any complaints.

I really enjoyed this series, Snows’ father had her so spoiled that she thought he could never do any wrong. She blamed her mother for destroying their family, when it was her father who created all the havoc and unforgivable pain. The way she treated her mom was unreal and I’m glad Stephanie provided the answers she needed, but by then it was much too late.. I loved how Zo took his baby boy and survived on the streets by whatever means was necessary and him and Snow getting together at the right time proved to be the best thing that could have happened. Bae serving time in prison for defending her best friend turned out to be the biggest mistake she could have made,,but in the end she finds out that everything truly happens for a reason in this crazy, and messed up world we living in… And O I absolutely loved Tristan.

GREAT SERIES

I really enjoyed this series. Very well written. Jessica put together a great story with amazing characters. My heart really hurt for Snow and all loss she experienced when she should've been coming into her own as a young adult. Although she had a few setbacks in book 1, in book 2 she bounces back and is determined to make things right for and with those she loved. I loved her growth in this book. Zo was that ying to her yang and she couldn't have found a better mate than him. I was happy that Bae finally revealed her secret and found the happiness she deserved. Sayyid was perfect for her. Highly recommend reading this series.

Great Read

Snow or Zo couldn't seem to catch a break. After having to scratch their way from the bottom. The both of them damn near lost their lives. Snow had the weight of the world on her shoulders. Trying to take care of her little brother's, fight for Bae freedom, and deal with the aftermath of what happened to her and Zo. While Zo was trying to recover. He also was dealing with Kelly trifling ass about their son. Them Meka scandalous ass put him in a position that could cost him the people he love. I seriously felt sorry for Bae. She was dealing with prison and holding in a secret that she hid for year's. Thankful through it all. Everybody life ended up back on track.

What a finish!

Snow literally grew up right before our eyes. She’s so poised and strong and gives credence to the saying that what don’t kill you makes you stronger. I loved seeing her go from existing to actually loving. Zo was truly for Snow. Meka was bad news and like a boomerang destroyed her own home while intended to bring Zo harm. Bae is such a good friend. She too overcame so much and exuded so much strength along the way. Sayyid is such a stand up guy. I’m glad he turned out to be 1 of the food guys! Awesome series!

Yesssss. Everything by Jessica is the bomb! Easily one of my favorite artists I haven’t read anything by her I don’t like.... so I just KNEW meka was going to be the death of snow and zo. ****SPOILER ALERT**** glad that snow didn’t let meka break up her home but sad that zo has to do what he did. Millions turn around was everything to me, glad he realized the value of being a kid and not running the streets trying to be their dad. Snow had so much on her shoulders at such a young age but SHE DID THAT! great book great series ready for what’s next!!!

Unbelievable

I am one who believes that troubles don’t last always but babbbyyyy, I’m not sure I’d ever want to walk in any of the characters in this book shoes. Snow having to mature and grow up in a matter of months when she should’ve been enjoying the college life tugged on my heart strings. The things Bae and Zo had to endure was enough to make any one cry but their survival story was one for the ages. I loved how they each solved their issues and overcame the obstacles placed in front of them.

Mending fences

I'm glad that So and Snow where able to mend fences despite that sneaky mess that Meka did. She really should be in jail. Cause if she were a man she would be in jail. I hate how everyone looked over that and didn't bat an eye.

I was glad to see Bae get out and find redemption. So glad she was able to heal by dealing with her pass and finding love in the most unexpected way. Bae and Snow friendship is as a solid as they come, so I was glad when she stopped holding that one secret from her.

So glad the bffs got their happy ending!

All that I expect and moe

You never seem to amaze me, you always have the best storyline that takes you through all the emotions. Happy, sad, emotional, and angry but in the end it all comes together. Since the first time I read your first book you became my favorite author and that title is still true. Your pen game is sick and I always look forward to reading your books and you never disappoint.

I was very pleased with this story. Although very young, I am glad Zo and Snow were able to overcome the many obstacles they faced and come out on top. Some of the story was a little unrealistic to me surrounding Danny being in Fed custody and nobody felt the need to be discreet on phone conversations etc. but overall it was a great read. I am extremely happy that Bae got her happy ending, she deserved it. Good book!

The first book, I really enjoyed. Then I waited to read the second book and was completely emotionally detached. Because Jessica N. Watkins is an AMAZING writer, I could never say this wasn't a good book, but it didn't capture me the way her books usually do. Snow's story is a unique one and my heart tugged with her going through all of other trauma she was going through. I am glad her and Zo got their happy ending. And I'm glad that Bae also got her happy ending!

YES!!!!!

I didn’t want this book to end but good things come to an end...This book is on point! I loved all the characters except Kelly, Joyce and especially Meka. Daniel is too smooth. What I like most about this book is that you never know what’s gonna happen next. Good job Jessica. This two part series is definitely a best seller.

Snow went from spoiled brat, to a responsible young adult. She went through a lot in her teenage years. This series was a wild ride that I didn't want to end. I would like to see Bae and her man have a series. Overall this is a great and must read for Jessica N. Watkins fans!

This was an entertaining read. Seems as if Snow couldn't catch a break. This seemed to humble her and grow her although she struggled. She thought things would be better for her heart if she avoided romance altogether. Bae's story line I loved. There were a bit of mix ups in the novel that one would have to sift through. Sometimes it seemed rushed but overall it held my interest. Certified.

Ahhhh yesssss

I love me a happy ending! I’m not gonna lie snow pissed me off in this book a little but her emotions was raw! She’s that character that we look for strong and with it. I’m still shocked at her age as I read I kept forgetting that she was only 19 but baby girl was running it. I was ready to kill Zo but that was just my emotions lol. This series was really good.

Snow 2

I enjoyed Snow and all the drama and turmoil that she and her family lived through to be overcome of their circumstances. Her parents raised her to be strong and strong was what she was. This book taught many things but one thing stood out. You don't have to be a victim of your circumstances. You can find the strength to overcome. Great read!

Gangsta with a twist of Romance

This book was excellently written. From start to finish Snow and Zo’s love story was a journey to follow. Never a dull moment in this book each chapter opened a different adventure for the reader. The turmoils the characters experienced only to keep pushing and end up with all their heart’s desire...inspirational and moving.
