A no-nonsense analysis
The author, a West Point grad, U.S. Army officer and business consultant, debunks the top myths about leadership that are rampant in business, the military and other arenas where leadership training is often misguided. Lupfer draws on his experience as an officer during Desert Storm and later as a business consultant to expose common pitfalls, from the charismatic but clueless executive to the "instant success" guru to the minutia-crazed control freak. We've all worked for bad leaders, but Lupfer explains why they're lousy, how to deal with them and how to improve leadership training. A must-read for anyone who aspires to leadership as well as for their subordinates.
