This book really sums up the restaurant/bar scenario in India. It has the view-points of leading restauranteurs from leading industries on why some places work and why most shut down withing two years.
It helps that the author has a good relations with all these restauranteurs. They give some good insight into the books. The second part of my book is the favourite where they discuss great restaurants like Olive, O Pedro, Oh Calcutta, Social etc. Good read for anybody remotely interested in the food space in this country. Would love to see an International Version of this.
A perfect (updated) case study done with years of research in this subject covering all aspects of the business. Author has written about various subjects from the history of restaurants in India to the new trends, talking extensively about food costs, where restaurants go wrong with an insight from the leaders in the market. A must read for all restaurateurs!
Very informative. Very well written. Numbers are extensively put through. For someone who is in the hospitality industry, especially in India, it is a must read. You might or might not agree with all the facts, but you are sure to get a meaningful perspective.
