The book is an overview of the forgotten two day battle of Truk Lagoon & the affects afterwards. It was spot that anchored their 4th Fleet. It was only attacked by US Naval aircraft & submarines. It was Japan’s “Gibraltar” of the Pacific with natural reef defenses all around their harbor.

The Americans attacked it & cut it off from Japan, any kind sea/ground attack would have been pointless. The Americans had to use their resources wisely. It was final attack of the South Pacific before the Navy could move onto the Central Pacific campaign. A short book, but very informative with a lot pictures & other information.
