Alcohol, cigarettes and tv. These are the things that imprison Will, a dying old man who wants nothing more than to close his eyes and never open again. But after thirteen years of avoiding the traumatic death of his wife, Will falls asleep and awakes on a crumbling road amidst endless sands on either side. As he walks through the elements, he is forced to remember the events that led to her death and to the present day.
Based on true events, "on this stone pavement." makes the reader question the role of death, love, and hate in their own hearts.
