Every single page of this book is filled with ideas on how you can bring the generations of your family together. You will discover how food, photos, storytelling, games, and even traditions can give family members the sense of pride and belonging we all would life to have. You will even figure out how to turn all those family keepsakes into something you actually want to keep AND that family reunions are more than just cheek-pinching fests! Trust me--this book is as fun as it is informative.
I've been writing about anything and everything since I met up and coming author, Judy Blume, when I was in the sixth grade.
While most of my work over the past twenty years has been parenting/family resources, inspirational non-fiction and curriculum, it is now time for me to begin telling my stories; the stories of the people and events that have made my life the wonderful adventure it is.
When I'm not writing, you will find me spending time with my husband, playing with my grandchildren, gardening or spending time with a special group of young people I call my kids.
Please Pass the Memories is one very entertaining and informative book! We all know that sometimes (let's be honest!) we hate those family reunions and we just want them to be over. But this book shows the fun in them, it gives you so many ideas on how to enjoy your time with your huge family. Personally, I enjoyed every single page of this book! I recommend it 100%!
This book is a wonderful celebration of family. I’ve come away with a head full of ideas and can’t wait to do them. Making use of stored treasures, family games and reunions, old family recipes, ideas for displaying precious things, keepsake boxes, the importance of telling stories. Page after page of ways to show love and to celebrate the special people in your family. Darla is obviously a ball of fun and has given me so much inspiration.
We all have treasures we want to pass down, family stories, recipes, and so forth. This book is FILLED with realistic, fun, interesting, and meaningful ways to do that. And in the process, you will bring the past, present, and future generations of your family together in a way that will give your loved ones a greater sense of belonging and appreciation for who and where they come from.
Have you ever thought about turning your great grandma's silver into windchimes or giving your mom's old formals to your daughter to wear to her prom? Or what about having a crazy 8's tournament with your grandkids using the cards you played with as a kid? Please Pass the Memories is 241 pages FULL of ideas and inspirations for using food, photographs, stories, keepsakes, traditions, and love--ALWAYS love--to bring the generations of your family together. In doing so, you will give your family what they want most, which is a sense of belonging and an appreciation for who and where they come from.
