George McVey always wanted to be a Superhero, sadly no radioactive storms or animals have been a part of his life. One day while spinning a tall tale for his family, some suggested once again that with all his experiences in ministry and his imagination, he should be writing books. This time it was like lightning struck him and he decided why not?

Since then George has been hard at work using his creative imagination and writing several books. He's still adding to his bibliography to this day. You can find them all on his Amazon.com page.

George lives in the wonderful state of Almost Heaven, West Virginia. A few years ago he moved from a single family home to a deluxe apartment in the sky, well the fourth floor anyway. He lives with his wife of thirty years, and a service dog named Daisy Mae. He is visited often by his three children and two grandsons.

I’m just going to say up front if I could have picked Roxy’s parents by the ears and shaken them I would have. I have a hard time with parents who behave the way they did, that said Roxy truly came out the winner. George H. McVey brought a great story and characters. Having read all the Cowboys and Angels series I loved the inclusion of the Ryder family and Bob the Rooster. I totally enjoyed the book. The story rates a 5 star rating but I took a star for the grammatical errors in the book. I understand the challenges he’s faced and when the corrections are made will gladly change my 4 to a 5.

Great story!

I loved this story! I loved reading Jackson and Roxie's love story. I enjoyed being back with the Reindeer brothers and their families, as well. I enjoyed the connection of the Ryders to Jackson. To be honest, there wasn't anything that I DIDN'T like about this book!

I really loved that George did a crossover with the Holliday series. I love the characters from that series. I'm glad Roxy finally got her HEA.

Can he rescue Roxie's heart?

She thought she had done running. Roxy has spent two years finding herself, reinventing herself, protecting herself....and running from the poisonous people that are her blood family. She thought she had her armour up and hidden by a prickly layer of sass but one look and Jackson seems to see straight to her soul. He instinctively knows exactly what she needs, what her fears are, and that she needs protecting from the poison her parents spew.
I really like that whilst Jackson doesn't force her, he challenges her to face her demons with his support. He knows she will need the control, the reassurance, but also that she is strong enough to heal her heart and love him with everything she is.
They are a perfect couple, both calm in a crisis, both super smart and both loved as part of the Holliday Family.
I love the crossover with the Ryder's and their crazy Cockerell too.
I read this on Kindle Unlimited.

The Reject Rescue

This was a great story on the rescue of a plane with 4 people on it heading for Alaska. The plane was struck by lightening and went down by some trees on nose into a snow bank. The people on board were ok except for a broken arm, a dislocated knee and stewardess had a concussion. The one person not injured was the one that set the bones and got s ow to get the swelling down in the knee, set a signal fire and then her husband and his rescue dog showed up and saved them all.this was my review and mine alone. Brawk!

There are several reasons for the five star rating, one I rarely give, and they are as follows: George H. McVey is the author, the story ties in with the Holliday Islands series, and there is a brief appearance of characters who are descendants of another of George's beloved characters, and finally the "guest" appearance of ...well, you'll just have to read the book.

The Reject Rescue

A story to tell of the wonders of love and the strong men who dare to tread the path. Jackson has known rejection from the women he had dated, while Roxy totally changed her life because of her rejection by the man she was to marry. They work in the same state, and have run into each other on the job.

What a great read!

The lead characters are so real. You feel like you know them. The story is believable, funny, and you can't wait til you get to the end. The rooster is cool. Write a book about him !

Roxanna (Roxy) Kowalski just does not have any luck when it comes to love after being left at the alter she just does not think love is for her. But she lets her best friend talk her into signing her up for a web site that is supposed to match her with her perfect match. Now on the way to Texas to Disaster City Search and Rescue she gets an email telling her she is matched and the man she is match to will be at Disaster City Search and Rescue. When she realizes who he is she is thrilled. But after concluding her business and is on her way home to Alaska her plane goes down. Now she just has to survive until her man can rescue her. This is a really sweet short story and I look forward to more from this author.

Another great book in this series. This is Jackson and Roxie's story. Loved Pinga too. Roxie got a crappie hand when her soon to be husband left her at the alter for her sister. So two years later she lives in Alaska with a survilist job and great friends. Jackson is search and rescue in Alaska along with his dog Pinga. They take a trip together to Disaster City, he for certification and her to sell survival gear. It's a great story of trust and love and of course survival. HEA.

I really enjoyed this book! The lady in the story was hurt badly when her soon to be husband said no when the preacher asked him if he would take her as his bride. And on top of that, he said he loved her sister and they eloped and got married that day. I recommend this book to anyone who loves a good romance!

;) This is my favorite of the series. I see a lot of myself in Roxy (w/out being left at the alter). My family also has been a wonderful support. Just needed God to show me, that there is a strong woman underneath, because HE lives in me.

Yes especially anyone, who has been stomped on by others and might need a dose of God's protection AND love.

This story is ok but rather simplistic. They go after each other real quick & then get married. The rescue happened real fast also. Really not very believable to me.
