I love the Let's-Read-and-Find-Out Science Book series. This one is nicely illustrated by Caldecott Award winning illustrator, Nonna Hogrogian. There's a great black and white illustration of a leaf pile on page 2-3 that my kids wanted to photocopy and color. It has a lot of great information about leaves through all the seasons of the year.

As I was reading this book, I noticed it has a particular rhythm to it. It includes repetition in words. I liked the part where it names some of the different types of leaves and the facts that this book can be used to explain math concepts.
