Other chapters focus on the culture (clothing, foods, occupations, etc.) of ancient Israel, and on the neighboring kingdoms that influenced its history. Great overview!

Overall a solid, Christ-centered look at the background of the Bible. Dr. Thompson's high view of Scripture and it's authority, even when it pertains to history, is evident throughout. An excellent resource that is accessible to professionals and laypeople alike!

I downloaded this because I was reading the Bible in a year and found the geography of the ancient world confusing. This helped with that, and also included quite a bit about the culture of the time of the Old and New Testament. I'm still not entirely clear, but it's better at least.
