Every corporation looks after its bottom line, but sometimes a corporation thinks it's an empire. The Mid-System Trading Company wants The Belt, and they don't care who they have to bribe or kill to get it. Their plans go wrong when a group of pirates hijacks the wrong shipment. Fearing their plan will be exposed, MSTC hires an assassin to kill the pirates and retrieve the stolen weapons. Sometimes, though, assassins can have a conscious, pirates can be good guys, and battle armor can think it's an anime character.

Really enjoyed this read. A stellar offering from such a "young" novelist (young in the career sense.)

Some just brilliant technology imagining and entertaining writing; with one or two major science fails. Could probably have used a good editor here and there, but not nearly so much that it took away from anything.

One of my favorite aspects of this novel was the approach to describing battle. This author's real life experiences burn through the page with characters in the fight and how fights evolve.

This is a novel written by a soldier, and it shows.

Dark sci fi adventure

Implacable wasn't my cup of tea, but it is an excellent book: well-written, imaginative, great characters, and an intense story. The blurb sounded lighthearted- the book isn't lighthearted. The worldbuilding is grim, and there is a lot of graphic violence. The romance is sweet, and Susan is an awesome character.
