I loved this book. It asks questions like, "which kind of mouth is the best kind?" and the book always answers with something like, "the mouth that smiles and says kind things." This book discusses that no one is better than the person next to them, and that our differences shouldn't matter. What is important is what is on the inside and that we are kind to people. I think this would be a great book to have in the classroom to make all children feel welcome and appreciated.

This book represents a purpose and adds value to our child’s read-a-thon challenge. On a planet that passes judgements towards external looks, the author and illustrator are very informative. They help educate our warriors that beauty is skin deep. It starts from within and if you kicking back with friends that think they’re better than everyone, they could be “snootie cootie’s.” What’s the first thing we look at upon meeting a new friend? We asked children if they want to be known for a happy face or sad face, then created a scene on how we treat people who may not be nice, but can’t tie his or her shoe so they’ll ask for help. It is a very informative and helpful book that focuses on the beauty we see around us with activities that could be done as a family tradition. At least two copies of this book is indeed recommended!

The purpose of this book is to teach children to be nice adn friendly. It says no matter how our eyes, our nose, our mouth, or our skin looks if we are a happy and friendly person, our face will look the best.
