Zone Of The Damned

Rate this book
“A deadly virus is a deterrent. A monster is a main attraction.”

Hundreds of genetically created monsters stalk the vast wilderness of the Pacific Northwest after being released from a secret lab. The government intervenes and builds a massive wall, claiming it is to contain a viral threat.

Butch, a civilian who is expert at illegally entering the “Zone” for hire, must reveal himself to save the very people that could destroy his life, the Black Ops team that guards the zone. His fate is in their hands.

Don, the scientist who created the creatures and released them as an act of vengeance, must return to the secret lab at the center of the deadly wilderness in order to destroy the damning evidence left behind.

Deep in the zone several factions are in a race to recover, destroy, or steal the data from the abandoned lab before the world knows the truth.

Wow! What a good book.

This book needs more exposure, it is that good.

It's a thriller, action, adventure, and an element of science fiction, with lots of twists and turns.

I read that best-sellers usually have a complicated plot, that is easy to follow. I think this qualifies.

What I liked about it:
-Takes place in the Pacific Northwest.
-Great cast of characters, scientists, military, a waitress, a stalker, a guide, some cops, some bikers, some drug cartel guys, and probably others.
-There is the main storyline, but alternate lines and they all come together in the end.
-People who would never be missed are being experimented on genetically. It goes badly, they are turned into big hairy, strong beasts.
-The area they are in is cut off and the government lies about what is going on.
-My favorite characters were the military team. But all the characters were well developed.
-The scenes in the contaminated zone are intense.
-The book is very well written, with (like my own writing) multiple points of view in many chapters and we also get a good amount of interior dialogue.
-Lots of action, well thought out, and well written.

What I didn't like:
-Nothing. All good.

Strongly recommend.

A New Twist

A very enjoyable and entertaining read. All of the main characters were well developed enough for me to care about their situation and how they reacted as the plot evolved. Recommend for something a bit different with a great deal of action.
