Druid's Curse #8

Mending the Rift

Rate this book
THE END IS NEAR!

The end would be upon Brandr and his friends soon. The only question, would Brandr be able to find his fated one in time? He feared he was too late when he arrived to find the field empty. Then the Veil opens again and hell rains down upon him as the Unseelie pets attack. But when Brandr was too injured to move, the Druid he was destined to claim as his own flees in terror. Talk about demoralizing.

That did not happen. Not even in some weird fantasy could Logan have imagined that a dead man could come back to life. And he had definitely been dead, since Logan had to put his head back on his body. But when he was faced with the truth, that the man was immortal, Logan has to admit to being…intrigued.

But as Samhain draws closer, the danger around them increases as the Fae converge. The Fae must be defeated if Brandr and Logan hope to find their happily ever after. Only by working together will they have any chance of Mending the Rift and saving humanity.

PLEASE NOTE: This is the FINAL book in an ongoing story arc. It is HIGHLY recommended that you read this series in order! Thank you!!

The thrilling conclusion to this magical story full of curses, magic and plenty of action and romance. I loved it! It was the perfect ending to this series full of healing and love. I really enjoyed the characters and how everything played out in the end.

This was a really good conclusion to an overall good series. I liked both Logan's story with Brandr and the end of the series as a whole. It was definitely worth the time!

A great end to an amazing set of 8 books

This is the 8th book of mending the rift series, and though it centres on Logan and Bran and how thru come together, it is also the culmination of 8 different stories about immortal vikings and their fated mates who are cursed or maybe blessed to come together to save the world. Full of fight scenes, trauma, adorable children, hearts mending, and a lot of hot sex the storylines are well written, and the author pulls you into an enthralling (pardon the pun) world. Read it and enjoy it as I did. So sad it is over....fir now

I have absolutely loved this series. And I love the way it ended because even with this being the final book, it’s almost like you could go on with it. Maybe somewhere down the road…..*hint hint, wink wink* maybe to catch up on how everyone is doing. What I loved as well, is how much everyone has grown through this series. And adding Logan to the mix with his magical gift was a brilliant move, considering who his fated mate it.
Brandr got to where he was supposed to be only to not be able to find Logan. He’s been so anxious to meet the young man, ever since Tess mentioned him. He wanted his mate. The one for him. He could sense Logan was there but couldn’t find him. But it didn’t matter at the moment because the ‘pets’ were pouring out of the veil and he had to stop them. But it was becoming too much. Finally some people came from a hole in the ground to do the ritual but weren’t exactly nice about it. So Brandr was going to leave them to handle the pets alone until he was surrounded. And then one had to go and decapitate him. It wasn’t until much later, when Logan put his head on his body, he was able to speak and somewhat explain. Of course, it scared the bejeezus out of Logan, but once he got over the fear, they began to talk and Brandr knew this poor guy was bearing a huge weight on his shoulders. Especially when he found out why. Once they got everyone home, it was a madhouse at first, but everyone began to heal. And they finally found Ky. But only Logan could get her out of the enthrallment she was in and he also discovered how to close the veil for a while so they could breathe. But it came with a price. The veil opened before it was supposed to and both Seelie and Unseelie royalty came with it. And the children were who they were after. But Logan had a plan and he prayed to anyone listening it would work and save the children as well.
I really have felt for all the druid’s in this series. They’ve each had to watch family die. So have the Vikings. Their lives have been no picnic either with being cursed. It’s been a hard, long journey for all of them. And finally a chance at peace, even for a few months, had them doing whatever they could to be ready for the Fae. All they wanted was to be with their fated ones and live happily ever after, so to speak. But the constant threat had to be eliminated for a while. And thankfully, Logan figured out how to do so with his gift. It didn’t mean it would stay closed forever. But for a while they’d be free. But it doesn’t come without a price. Many have died before and some may die now. The Fae constantly try to kidnap or enthrall those they can to take them, which ends up making them nuts. The price is a high one.
But it’s made for one hell of a series. And I am so glad I have gotten the chance to read it. If you haven’t, you are missing out. Seriously. And I just have to say, the surprise at the end…..was a damn nice touch.

Satisfying conclusion to this series

I thought that Logan's innate knowledge of his own powers was a little too serendipitous to be real. All of the others struggled with only one aspect of their power, and yet Logan mastered several aspects of his in merely weeks. I wish that this had been done differently so that it didn't feel so deus ex machina.

Having said that, Brandr may be my favorite Viking - even if he never shifted in his own story. I loved that Logan's power mirrored Brandr's passion so closely. I also loved how both men valued their mating from the beginning.

This story was so good with the addition of Logan and the new kids. I loved Brandt and Logan together. Logan’s power was off the charts and very much needed in this addition. As with the others in the series you get a well written beautiful story about druid’s needing to stop the fae from coming through a rift and taking over. There were heart stopping moments that had me on the edge of my seat.

A lot happens throughout. There are twists and turns that I thoroughly enjoyed. I am sad this is the last book. I wanted more about Fen considering Aed cursed him as well. Even though he helped the vikings he was more in the background. I wanted to know how he escaped the fae. Is there a love interest for him, as eternity is a long time to spend alone and Aed never said in the curse he could not find someone for him.

I loved the entire series. Each druid possess a unique ability that will help mend the rift. But Logan was the last one needed to accomplish this. A Fantastic end to an amazing series.

Highly recommended.

Great add to the series. Brandr and Logan are a great couple to end this epic series/story with. I loved the chemistry and magic mixed into this Druid world. So much to discover and love overcomes all. This hits you in all the feels; emotional, action and suspense. Don't want to say too much to give things away but if you liked the others you'll love this one. Logan and Brandr are perfection. I voluntarily reviewed an 'Advance Author’s Copy' of this book.

A good ending to the series. This is a book that you definitely want to read the others first. We finally see a resolution with the horrible Seelie & Unseelie Fae and they finally get what’s coming to them. The only thing that I thought was a bit disappointing was how they resolved the issue with Rowan, the psychologist. It was rather anti-climactic. Other than that, it was an enjoyable read. I’ll miss all the druids and their Viking mates.

Review for the whole series: I did like the overall story arc of this series. It was original and although I would have loved a little more emphasis on the druid culture I had a lot of fun with all our druids and Vikings. For some couples the relationship development was a little rushed but there were cute moments in every book and I liked the found family that became bigger from book to book. All books in this series could use some serious editing though. There were quite a few grammar and spelling mistakes. If that is something that bugs you, I recommend waiting for an amended version.
