I think "it was ok" is a good review of this book.

If you are an experienced AWS architect, you will find "nothing new under the sun", as it is a list of well-known best practices for cost management. Yeah, and that's a second culprit: it is about cost management, which is essential but does not provide a quick list of cost optimization ideas as the title suggests. Most of the stuff is also in a free white paper about the AWS Well-Architected Framework Cost-Efficiency pillar.

It's not a bad book if you are starting with AWS, more experienced architects are for sure familiar with those techniques - and in this case, it's not worth time and money to reiterate it.
