This was one of those lucky discoveries you make spending time in a good college town used bookstore (Braun Books, Cedar City, Utah). Ken Jones' diagnosis of the human condition and the complex relationships among religious, secular therapeutic, and political traditions of amelioration is superb: lucid, subtle and deeply humane. He has expanded my understanding considerably.
A very good book! Have a dictionary close by as the author has a very wealthy vocabulary.. A great mix of case studies, Eastern and Western insights, and strong though provoking narrative.
