I really enjoyed this as a kid--preteen saving the day when grown ups can't was little me's jam. I also really enjoyed reading about ancient cultures as a kid (and still do!).

This is pretty good. Aahmes learned a lot as he traveled through Egypt to prove
his father's innocence. This character is a very brave boy with a strong sense
of family and duty. Their slave girl was brave too. I liked Tety.

*Spoilers*

He almost saves Ramses III, securing the new king's place, Ramses IV.
Aahmes, the Sword of Egypt. It's got a nice ring to it.
Poor kid didn't deserve to be shunned by his friends when his dad was suspected of killing
the Pharaoh.
The usurpers were expected to kill themselves or be allowed to die quickly with poison.
Others possibly thrown to crocodiles with their hands and feet bound. Egyptian punishment
was pretty harsh huh....

The only reason I read this was because it somehow ended up on my bookshelf, it was ok. I wanted a better ending to the story.
I'm just glad I donated it and I don't have to look at it anymore.
