It's going to be a hot time in the city tonight! Drake, Hanee and Elek arrive at the human city of Enlil, where they encounter strange a newcomer to In Dream World named Eliot and his talking bird-cane Excalibur. But their sightseeing is cut short when the Nightmare's new queen is born--and you'll never guess who her vessel is!
Well, that was...something. I'm not sure what I was expecting, or if I was actually expecting anything at all.
Suffice it to say that I'm glad I got through this series at last, though I'm no longer sure if I'll be keeping it. The writing is very confused, disjointed and rushed. The story leans heavy on clichés and probably expects a lot of audience familiarity with what I will assume is actually a pre-existing game of some sort or other that few English-speaking audiences are familiar with. The art is still fun and gorgeous, but that's about all I can give this.
Honestly, this would have benefited greatly from having more volumes to allow it a chance to not only flesh out the characters better, but also to actually do real world-building.
