Trick or Treat
October 31st. One of the most lucrative and celebrated days of the year. But for Ruri James, it’s just another day. Well, almost.
Celebrating her twenty-first birthday on Halloween, Ruri invites her three life-long besties round to celebrate with her. Tradition dictates it. She’s had a crush on her three best friends for as long as she can remember. As the years have passed, the crush has developed into something far less innocent. She’s never told anyone, preferring to keep her naughty little secret and live in hope.
Suddenly though, this year everything is different. Either the guys are messing with her, or they seem to return her feelings. As the games begin, it’s up to Ruri to figure out who or what she really wants. Are the guys genuine? Is it all just a trick? Or is she in for the treat of her life?

A short but very sexy novella about 4 friends pushing the boundaries of their friendship by playing a game of Trick or Treat or Truth or Dare. During which Ruri (FMC) has to decide if she wants to act on her attraction to one or all of her friends - Onyx, Sterling & Jasper. Great characters even if Onyx got on my wick a bit. A good read though

This was an easy to read, fast burn RH story! Ruri and her 3 best friends, Onyx, Sterling, and Jasper get together to celebrate her Halloween birthday, and it soon turns into something Ruri never expected. Crystal North did a great job building up the heat as the story progressed and definitely wrote a story that will keep you interested until the end. I can't wait to read more by her!

I would give this short read 4.5 stars and the only reason I had to deduct is because Ruri continually says that she loves all three guys equally, but a majority of the story focuses on her and Onyx only. I mean, the game between her and Jasper is completely glossed over, while Onyx gets two whole scenes to himself. However, the group s*x was hot as he** and it is definitely worth the read if your looking for something fun and light to get your all hot and bothered with a fun Halloween twist.

Ok, so I love these kind of books! It is a fast burn, super steamy read! Great variety of characters that you would want to add to your own personal RH. Crystal North is quickly becoming an author that I would buy a book from without knowing anything about it because I know she won’t disappoint!

A short sexy and oh so hot book. Everyone needs a birthday/Halloween like Ru's. Onyx is a bit of an ass. Sterling and Jasper are so sweet. How can she choose? This a quick read that feels the spot if you have a bit of a hangover from other books. I recommend you read it and maybe reread again later. I know I will.

Short but sweet. I loved this short novella story as it was playful and a fun read. I wish there was more, as crystal has a beautiful mind and her writing clearly shows this. If you would like something fun, entertaining and hot... This is the short story for you!

2.5 stars. Short friends to lovers Halloween story. I found some parts sweet but couldn’t stand Onyx. His attitude and ego. Bleh. Kinda ruined the story for me. I did like the other two though.

I really enjoyed the premise of the story, loved most of the characters wasn't a huge fan of Onyx. Would really enjoy reading more of their story. Good short, steamy novella though!

Look, I'm always the first to say that I'm not a huge fan of smut without plot. I like context, I wanna get to know the characters and grow attached to them. I wanna form some kind of meaningful connection. So, it's quite surprising that I even picked this novella up. But, I won it and I could use a light and short read this Monday.
And surprisingly? I liked it. I really did. The plot might be very thin and underwhelming, but it's just enough to make it work for me. It's not smut without a reason. And although we've missed all the build up, since we haven't seen these people become friends and grow closer, it somehow still works. I don't know how North did it. Maybe she's just that great.
On top of that, the smut is very well written. It's hard to say what makes smut well written, but it wasn't just about what bodypart was where when. It focussed a lot on emotions, on what our main girl felt and experienced, on what this meant for her and what it did to her. And although I don't feel like I know her, I at least could imagine how she felt, which was nice.
I have to admit that I wasn't a big fan of Onyx as a character. He's not really my type of guy, but because I felt what the main character felt I understood that she at least liked him and how he acted and treated her. And hey, as long as she's having fun and is happy, who am I to not like all of her guys? I don't have to live with him.
After this short I'm very curious what the author does with a full length novel! I'll certainly check it out in the future!

Poor Ruri has been secretly in love with her three best friends forever, but they think of her as boring. On her 21st Birthday, that also happens to be Halloween, a game of truth or dare quickly becomes trick or treat and things get steamy quickly.
This is a super fast burn with so much spice stuffed into all the pages. Despite the short length of this book we manage to get individual time with each guy and all together.
The book manages to show snippets of each guys personality and give history with their relationship with Ruri.
I kind of hope we might see more of Ruri, Jasper, Sterling and Onyx. This was such a delicious sample!

I like to read a Halloween themed book every year so this year I picked this as I do like this author.
There are no monsters , witches or scariness but it is set at Halloween with the specific theme of trick or treat, mainly the treat aspect!
Ruri's birthday is on Halloween and for her 21st birthday her 3 male best friends are coming over to watch films and hang out as they do every year. Only this year things take a surprising turn and the treats turn out to be the non chocolatey kind!. It's a short story more spicy than sweet and enough heat to chase away the chills of a chilly autumn evening

A nice little treat...
While waiting for the next full length novel from Crystal, she decided to grace us with this cute, fell good, fast burn treat. It was something fast, fun and easy to ready. I mean who doesn’t want to have a little treat after being naughty and doing some tricks right?!

Omg !!! I need more of these characters. I don’t know if Onyx needs to be Choked or kissed or both at the same time. Because she’s jerkaass bad boy we all love and hate at the same time. Sterling and Jasper are sweet funny and crazy. Obviously they were up to no good early on it just took a Certain bad boy to pull his head out of his ass and realize the fun that could happen. 😈😈😈

Trick or treat is a short RH following our FMC Ruri and her 3 best friends (m) as they celebrate Halloween and Ruris birthday. What starts as some party games quickly turns naughty, and when Ruri is suddenly forced to make a decision and pick just one of her men she refuses. Luckily her men are on board with sharing and the heat is cranked all the way up.

I loved this short story. It was a good paced but such a yummy story. Ru and the guys gave of something to read enjoy. Love Crystal Norths story's so cant wait to read more of her books and would love to have some more sexy short stories as this one.
