Club Zombie #3

Zombies Coming

Rate this book
Zombies suck—but they’re not after brains! These zombies are young, hot, and looking for their mates.

Cassidy Frost, who writes everyone else’s happily ever after, has all but lost hope he’ll ever find his own. Every night he’s sucked until his jaw hurt, praying for his other half more out of habit than faith his mate is out there. Life has never been kind so he doesn’t dare hope fate will simply drop his mate into his lap.

Erick McGrath learned how cruel and short life could be when he lost his brother. Despite his parents’ toxic attitude, Erick decides to take steps in accepting his nonbinary gender identity. Going to Club Zombie’s Drag Night is his first attempt at embracing his new grasp at freedom. A stumble lands him into the arms of an angel, but he knows better than to believe in something that good.

Both of them seem to be each other’s dream come true, but Cassidy and Erick will have to take risks to have what they desire.

(Zombies Coming is part of the Club Zombie series but can be read as a standalone for a perfectly happy and satisfying ending.)

This is a sexy happily ever after with much lighthearted fun. Zombies suck... but mine swallow.

A Joyfully Jay review.

I have had a run of “this isn’t the first book in the series, but it can be read alone” stories lately. Zombies Coming, it turns out, works just fine as a standalone and, for those who are into this portrayal of zombism, offers two previous books that I believe focus on Ethan’s stories.

In particular, Zombies Coming focuses on gender identity and expression and has a couple of thoughts zing through the MCs minds about orientation. For me, I found it worked particularly well that Allora focuses on just Erick’s expressions at the start. We watch him transform from the straight-laced college student into the cheerleader and it just reminded me of the kind of relief I feel after having to dress up in fancy clothes I don’t usually wear and get to be myself. Allora conveyed the excitement and newness of it through Erick well. Conversely, when we see Cassidy going through his own prep for the evening, he conveys a strong sense of “been there, done that” resignation.

Zombies Coming is the third book in the ‘Club Zombie’ series. This stars Cassidy Frost, who has been a zombie for quite a long time, and has almost given up on ever finding his soul mate. And Erick McGrath, the younger brother of Storm, who appeared in the second book. The story is told in third person from both Cassidy and Erick’s povs.

Zombies Coming is the third book in the Club Zombie series by  Z Allora. This is a paranormal m/m romance with a huge dose of comedy and sexiness. There is a bit of angst and drama but also a ton of sweet romance, afterall these zombies are all about trying to find their mates, one suck at a time.

Gender fluid Zombie Cassidy has been looking for his mate for a long time, watching his friends find theirs and the hope is starting to dwindle that it will ever be his fate to find his perfect mate. Then he finds Erick, a non- binary sweetheart that calls to his soul and brings back the light of life after so long. Falling in love has never been so easy... but the fear of finding out they aren't mates looms. I love Cassidy and Erick... they are so comfortable together, falling into each other easy and perfectly. Adorable.

Then we have a while other layer of drama and family. Some interesting surprises, some emotion provoking scenes and some fun. Definitely great addition to this series and with the way this ends, I can not wait for the next book.

I’ve never gravitated to zombie books. The whole eating brains thing just isn’t my jam. But when I read the premise of this one . . . a funny zombie story about zombies who don’t eat brains? I was intrigued. I love it when an author changes one preconception (zombies eat brains), makes it new (zombies eat specific protein) and spins a story (or series) around that. So, even though this isn’t the type of book I usually pick up, I am forever hooked on this series.

I love the myriad gender expressions the MCs explored and enjoyed watching Erick discover and grow into the way he wanted to express himself. I delighted in the snappy dialogue, the humorous scene of some minor public mischief, the family dynamics as well as the dynamics in the larger zombie population.

There is a scene involving parental rejection that was a little hard to take (proof that it was well written); it could be very difficult for a reader still struggling with their own rejection.

I loved this book and can’t wait to devour the first two in the series as well.

I was lucky enough to get an ARC copy of this book but it goes live October 28!

This is book 3 in the Club Zombie series where we have Cassidy, our favorite feminine flirty -ever looking for his mate- zombie, and Erick, Storm's- from book 2- brother and he identifies as nonbinary. Together they tackle tough topics and find mated bliss.

This series is just crazy unique and I liked that nonbinary was a focus in this book. I still am not a fan of Storm but he grew on me like a teeny tiny bit at the end. I'm so glad Cassidy found his happy ending!

I can't wait to read about all the wrongs that meanie Demon did and how he is going to get a second chance for our favorite couple looking for their third!

Overall, I'd sum this story up as an interesting take on zombies and an education on nonbinary individuals with a splash of romance.

This is the thrid installment in this series, and we are finaly going to let Cassidy shine for a while. Cassidy is a colorful person who have not met his other half yet. He is a bit older than the others, but oh so flirty. I was so happy when he got his book, and well lets just say, it's a great book with lots of things happening in it.
Cassidy who is who he is, meets Storm's little brother Erick, who feels he does not fit in either as a man or a female.
When these two meets, one is helping the other in many ways. We also see how complicated the relationship between the two brothers are.
I love how we get to learn alot about the themed essence in this book. Im not telling what it is because I do not want to spoil it for you.
I connected well with the two main characters in this story and I just love the storyline and setting.

I loved this series! After reading the first 2 books in the series, I'm sure that even if the premise of the plot is weird and funny, it really works and this 3rd book is the proof of that. Now Cassidy find his mate in Erick who is Ethan's brother (book 2). But this story is much more, because when Erick found his brother also found intolerance for his nonbinary gender identity and the situations and the solutions the author proposed in her plot were really well written, and helped making the book a nice real-life example of the problematic this topic arises, even between people who supposedly "understands" discrimination. Great story!!!
I received this book as an ARC and this is my honest opinion.

I enjoy this series and this book really had a story of accepting yourself. I liked that Erick really helped Cassidy more accept himself and that his brother, Ethan, from the previous book was really able to accept him after quite a few stumbling blocks. I also liked the education that was given in the book about the trans part of the LGBT community as it just gives more information that I didn’t really have before.

I look forward to seeing if this author continues this series as at the end it is open to a new couple finding their mate.

I received a copy of this book and am giving an honest review.

Although this is the third book of the series, you can definitely read it as a stand alone as I did

We meet Cassidy and Erick and go on their journey of finding their mate. We focus Erick being non binary, learning to show who he really is, and learn zombies do exist.

Cassidy couldn’t be any more sweet and understanding to what Erick is feeling and going through. When Erick learns what Cassidy needs to survive he is more than willing to help but they both are scared what it means.

I am happy for the guys finding each other and improving their lives by being each other’s mates.

The story is more about Erick being non-binary than actual zombie side of the story

I absolutely LOVED this sweet, charming, poignant, delightfully different, engaging, adorable, lovely, fresh, original, and completely unexpected twist on the standard zombie storyline. The author did a marvelous job of portraying genderfluid and NB characters in a beautiful way. I can't wait to see what happens next.

I somehow missed this book when it was first released so I’m not sure how much has changed from the original version but enjoyed Zombie Coming very much. I like the whole take on “zombies” and I thoroughly enjoyed how well written all the characters were. Very enjoyable story!

Cassidy & Erick 4.50 ✨✨✨✨•✨

This is book #3 in the Zombie Club series and I was so glad sweet Cassidy finally found their one. I think I love Cassidy so much because they were a kid of the 80's and so I found them very relatable in things like fashion, movies and home decor, and even the AIDS/HIV scare back then. We lost so so many people we loved and even though it is still a problem today, so much has changed through medicine and education that it isn't quite the death sentence it once was.

Anyway, Cassidy lost the majority of their friends back then, and some of that coupled with seeing all their zombie friends finding their mates and moving on and some away to have lives of their own has left them feeling abandoned.

Enter cutsie Erick! I just wanna hug this sweet young thing and never let them go. It's that momma instinct kicking in. Erick has struggled with their identity most their life. Wearing the clothes society deems appropriate for a man make Erick feel uncomfortable almost like they are wearing someone else's skin.

Erick and Cassidy are drawn to each other and the pull is quite strong. While Erick works on their relationship with a brother they thought was dead, but is actually a zombie with not one but THREE mates, Cassidy becomes their safe harbor during "Storm Ethan."

This series has been so charming and funny that it is definitely one I will return to from time to time. I hope Z isn't done just yet. We could use a few more zombies like these in our lives. 💗

I received a complimentary copy of this book from LesCourt in exchange for an honest review.🌺

Beautiful inclusive story! This was something special for me.

I loved the gender-fluid and non-binary elements and characters in this story and even if you don't like Zombies or those elements this story is still so wonderful. I love the inclusivity and Z's approach to some truths faced by enby and gender fluid people, even from fellow LGBTQ+ peers. I loved how Z approached Cassidy's gender fluidity and how his mind worked with regards to gender. I could totally relate and I loved that! You can tell this is a topic close to Z's heart and extensive research and care were taken when approaching all these elements are so well done and done with so much love.

I also loved the unique take on Zombies! Added unique humor to the story and adds a good bit of fun. I loved the "age gap" and good old 80s elements too. I haven't read any of the other stories and I didn't feel like I was missing out on anything. I liked the true mates' element too and the way the poor Zombies had to find their mates was unique and a bit hilarious. I loved learning more about gender fluidity and non-binary in this setting and while the story deals with some harsh realities these minorities face, I loved that it helped me get a better understanding of the differences between these two genders and truly helped me understand my own gender fluidity a little better.

I loved this story for many reasons and the added zombies were the icing on the gender non-conforming cake! Thanks, Z for such inclusive stories!!! A great bit of fun!!

The way a zombie discovers if someone is his mate is... um... interesting, and that premise actually works to make this a very sweet romance. Cassidy is so ready to find his mate, but he is so tired of the constant one-sided sex act required in his search. When he meets Erick, Cassidy's world view changes. The two very quickly begin to fall in love. What if Erick isn't his true mate? How will Cassidy handle it? How will Erick?
I love these two beautiful characters, and their relationship is very sweet and also very sexy. There is some education provided about what it means to be nonbinary, which is handled well by an author who is sensitive and knowledgable about the subject.
This is a very different look at zombies, and it is a great read. This is a re-release, and I love the new cover. I will visit this world again, and I recommend that other readers join me.

Interesting take in zombies

While I’m still not sure why they are called zombies, the basic plot is unique and erotic. Erik and Cassidy hit it off right away and are sweet together.

I don’t have much exposure to people on the trans spectrum but I appreciated this story’s explanations.

I really enjoyed reading this really intriguing MM zombie romance which is the third book in the series “Club Zombie” & I liked the unique MM romantic approach this author has taken instead of writing the normal bloodthirsty zombie stories. I found the plot light-hearted & well-written with some mischievous situations but it also has a more serious undertone. The characters are well-developed & interesting, there are some character crossovers from the previous books but this book can be read as a standalone. There is good support from the secondary characters.
There is a young man (Erick) content with his non-binary gender goes to Club Zombie Drag Night & stumbles into the arms of a male zombie (Cassidy) & after some time together they both discover that dreams do come true, some drama, humor, some twists, intrigue, memories, family issues, parental rejection, loneliness, fear, discovery, disbelief, confusion, explanations, well-meaning deceit, insecurities, a transphobic attitude , defiance, self-esteem issues, longings, hope, advice, desire, mates, therapy, confrontation, threats, some steam, happiness & a well-deserved satisfying conclusion with a very interesting ending. I look forward to future books from this author with great anticipation.

Knowing who you are

Poor Cassidy has been waiting for his story to be told and for love to enter his life. The poor guy has been patient up to this point. Erick is finally talking a chance and experiencing something that he has been interested in for awhile and he finally gets to be a hidden, honest part of himself. The two need each other and understand each other when others judge them.
I liked the story off how these two come together and I love the updates that the author did to the story. I read this the first time it came out and I think this version is even better. The boys and the labels they give themselves cause problems for Erick's brother to understand so this story helps to explain how some people might feel in a similar situation.
Good story with wonderful characters. I can't wait for the next book.

I absolutely loved this book.
Cassidy has been waiting for his mate for so long, he's pretty much given up hope.
Erik is sweet and dying a little each day pretending to be someone he's not.
When they meet at Club Zombie, there's an instant attraction.
Cassidy tries to keep his distance from Erik and withholds information from him due to his fears.
It was wonderful to see how they supported each other and helped the other to realize their own truth truths despite the deep seated ignorance and hatred they were confronted with.
We're left with a teaser for a new pairing and I can't wait for it.

This was a definite 4.5 star read. I'm loving this series and was so glad that this one is about Cassidy. This was definitely a well researched, planned, and developed storyline which made it more realistic inspite of it being about zombies. The quirkiness and humor is still there, and I just love Erik. It's hard not to love this series.

I read a complimentary advance copy of the book; this is my voluntary and honest review.

Best Zombie book ever!!!

I confess I’ve read all three books in this series several times each. In fact with this one I even reread sections again before I wrote this. I must praise the author for the support meetings were written as well as Erick and Ethan’s interactions. I hope that many read this and learn to understand. I admit I wasn’t sure on some terms and this helped me greatly. And Cassidy got his guy YAY!!! Of all the characters he was the one I wanted happy the most.

This was a very interesting twist to the world of Zombies. I picked this one up and start with book 3 so it can definitely be read as a stand alone, but for better enjoyment starting with book one . I loved the characters and how they were together. Very good story line and I hope there is another book.

This is such a fun series and a favourite character of mine Cassidy gets to meet there mate Erick. Although this is a serious as previously stated fun, this book has a quite serious message about acceptance, even within the LGBTQA+ community so expect some Manx as this book concentrates on gender identity and expressions, societal norms and expectations as the main characters find, explore their attractions and build their relationship. My heart broke at the parental reactions even though it was expected from what was said previously.

This one was my favourite so far of the series, I love all the characters, I can’t wait to read more.

Amazing book

I think I can easily say this was my favourite so far in this series.

It was absolutely amazing. I loved the connection between Cassidy and Erik. It was sweet and perfect, with a good dose of sexy.

What I loved the most about this book was that it shows that acceptance is not easily gained no matter what, and that prejudice comes in all form and to all people. It really helped me understand some things and I loved it.

Great great book and I will reread ad nauseam

I really love this version of zombies. They are still looking for what's in a man's head, it's just the other head. It's a really interesting twist on them.

I really like Cassidy and Erick. It's nice to see two NB characters, one who has known what he is and dealt with it for decades, and one who is coming into themselves.

I have to say, Erick's brother is a bit of a jerkhead, even though he's had his HEA and knows all about zombies and is gay.

I'm looking forward to more of this world, I really hope we get to see more.

This is my first read from Z. Allora and I was taken by surprise at this well written and hilarious book, but also contains emotion and heart. Cassidy, who hasn't met his mate and thinks at this point he might never meet him, goes to Drag Night at a club and everything changes when he meets Erick. Everything about Erick appeals to Cassidy, but there are some speed bumps along the way. A great read!!
