Smoke in the Valley

Rate this book
A great novel of the sprawling West and the men and women who lived, loved and died to make it their home. They were a long way from the rolling blue-green hills of Kentucky. The valley they settled in had none of the grace of the East; here the cruel rocks looked down and watched them day and night. Here men carried rifles and used them to shoot down other men. Here your pretty daughter wasn't safe and your son could become a gunfighter. It was a harsh land that took a harsh toll of the people who settled it. And the Whitlock family was going to suffer most than most. The land itself would claim one, another would become an outlaw, one a woman with a "reputation." And one would help build the West and grow up with it.
