A CULTured Series Novella. Ezra can’t get into heaven without his wives, and hell is the one place he never wants to go. This isn’t a fairytale, there’s no princess in white dress. Only an orphan who unwittingly said yes to the devil she didn’t know. They become one flesh before God and his witnesses.
I love it when Ashleigh delves into the darkness and brings us a fantastically disturbing novella.
This story takes place from A Lump Of Coal/CULTured series. So we get a glimpse at a couple of side characters Ezra and Vashti.
Ezra is deep seated within the cult and as time progressed he is forced to take action with his own future and standing within the cult and amongst his elders.
Vashti is sweet, innocent and raised by nuns within a convent. A chance meeting Ezra and he sets the wheels in motion for his future.
Ashleigh doesn't hold back with the dark themes. In fact at one point you could say that she went pitch black. I loved every minute of the novella and I was wishing for a whole lot more but it is not to be. I will just have to wait for CULTured.
It’s very rare I’m left with a complete lack of words after reading a book but after Say Yes, I’m speechless. I honestly don’t know what to say without giving spoilers. I found the main characters quite easy to like. Even when I probably shouldn’t like their actions, I still quite liked the person. I wasn’t expecting the story to take the turns it did, why I’m so surprised I don’t know because I’m not a first time reader of this author. If you’re looking for something a little different to the usual I definitely recommend checking this out.
Wow! What a mind blowing read! While this is a novella, it is packed with so many twists! Ezra must choose another wife, and he wants Vashti. But can she follow his ways? When they meet, he knows she is the one for him, and while she is unsure, she knows he may be her only option. This story is truly mesmerizing and I read it in one sitting! This author is truly talented and I can't wait to read more by her.
WOW!! This was all kinds of Wrong but all kinds of right. It was exactly what I need from a Dark Twisted read.
One thing for sure this Author never holds back when she delves into her Dark Side. I really love that about her.
Say Yes tells the story of an innocent young girl thrust into a life she doesn't fully understand. All she wants to be is a good wife but she has no idea what that entails....but she will.
I devoured this one, Holy Sh!t it was brutal and barbaric but oh so good. I had goose bumps after reading this and not in a good way.
I'm very intrigued by some characters and I can't wait to read more about them.
Wow this author has done it again by blowing my mind with an amazing story. So many times while reading it I was dropping my jaw and mentally applauding the author. She’s written another fantastic story that blew my mind. I can’t wait to read more from this author. This is a short but certainly not a sweet story. I’m so looking forward to reading more from this author. Epic read!
I didn't realise when I picked this up that I'd read it previously as part of an anthology. I decided to read it again as I've recently read the first book in the CULTured Series.
Ashleigh Giannoccaro writes superb, disturbing, erotic horror. Ezra and Vashti are a likable couple who clearly want to be in love and so must comply with a series of barbaric rituals set by his church.
That's all I can really say about this one. If you trigger easily, you probably should avoid this book. If you like it Dark then read on.
"Wrong. Wrong. Wrong." ~Vashti ("Say Yes" by Ashleigh Giannoccaro)
It is no secret that I love all of the words Ash writes, and Say Yes is no different. With this tale she is back to her dark, twisted self. Here we meet Ezra and Vashti, and oh what a twisted tale it is. This is a great short story and is set around the CULTured world. Have not yet read A Lump of Coal for Christmas go one click now, you will not regret it. I can not wait for the next installment!!!!!!
I've read this story a few times in the past, and was in the mood to read it again. I so wish I could have a copy in paperback. It's just a great read, and I wish the author had decided to continue and build on this series. I would have devoured each and every book.
Is so good if you have read Ash's lump of coal novella this book is based in the same world and we get to meet new characters it is well-written dark and twisted Say Yes by Ashleigh. This author sure knows how to pull you in with her words and you get so drawn in you forget the world around you for few hours. So good it is a great quick read and will leave you wanting more.
Wow!! Just wow! What can I actually say that would explain what I am feeling about this story. Definitely not a sweet novella, but something more dark and intense. I am definitely ready for what comes next in this series.
This book is dark, disturbing on so many levels, and yet it is compulsive reading... and not just because it's a novella without too many pages. Ashleigh always packs a punch with her words and the scenarios she creates so vividly in the mind of her readers. In a world where media consumers have become desensitized to the violence and horror that threatens to overwhelm us every day, Ashleigh breaks through and the wounds are fresh again. May they not scab over for a very long time.
This story is amazing. It's dark, it's twisted, it's omg I can't believe what I just read good. It's that story, that makes you cringe and gasp at what's happening.
Say Yes is about a group of people, that believe in what they think is right and want everyone and all to fall in line. They want to have all the blessings, but go about it the wrong way. This story is one of Ashleigh's best and happy I read it.
read the first book to this series back in 2017 and loved the story but it left me hanging! I have been looking out for the next book but never seen it, until now but I don't know how i missed it ?
I loved reading this book as much as I did with the first book, a great story written brilliantly. Its a short book and it keeping you quickly turning the pages and leaves you wanting more.
Say Yes by Ashleigh Giannoccaro. I orginally read this story as a part of the Twisted Sacrament book which was several stories with a religious tone with a dark twist. Vashti as a baby was left on the convent door. Now she is 18 and she can either become a nun or be turned out into a world she doesn't know. Ezra had his first wife chosen for him now he wants Vashti as his second wife. The problem is Vashti is an outsider and has been raised in his faith. Even though this was my second time reading this story I still loved it. What was expected from Vashti and what she had to go through would have broke any other woman. This definitely wasn't your normal love story. Tough read at times but a good read. 4.5 stars for me. Definitely wanted more of their story.
Woah. I've read a couple of Ashleigh's stories, but I never know what to expect - this was no different. A twisted tale of life in a cult, and the whole time I was trying to tell the characters just to leave and be together, and yet they stayed. Definitely reading more of Ashleigh's stuff soon!
I expected better by the reviews, but it didn't do anything for me. There's wasn't much to it in general. And the quasi-M/s incest bit was just a turn off for me
