If You Remember Me: A Contemporary Fairytale Adventure Novel

Rate this book

Dorothy C. Gale stopped aging at 14.

That was 50 years ago. After all those years, this mystery still eluded her. "Where is my real family? Why won’t anyone tell me? Why can't I remember them?" Her Uncle Henry and Aunt Em know, but they’re not telling.

That's about to change.

On a routine trip to the city for parts for the farm, Aunt Em’s allergic reaction to an enchanted blueberry muffin begins to unravel the secrets they have been hiding from her all this time.

Dorothy's life has always been strange, but it’s about to get even stranger. While escaping malicious forces with her uncle and aunt, she is abruptly left behind, soaked with frigid sea water in an abandoned undersea train station in the land of Oz.

After recovering from the shock, Dorothy discovers this station is oddly familiar. Dorothy doesn’t know much about where she is, but she knows this.

This is her chance to find answers.

You'll love this book if you like heartfelt and thoughtful fairytales, with a lot of whimsy and playfulness mixed in.

Poor editing. Poor plot cohesion. Characters were not likeable. Too bad because the story was a new approach that I had been excited to read.

Riddled with grammatical and spelling errors

Ugh! This is just lazy writing or poor editing. Either way, it ruins the entire reading experience. I noticed earlier reviews stating the same, yet, it doesn’t seem that this author cares about the quality of his work, because it hasn’t been corrected.

Editor please

The plot line intrigued me, but on the very first page were editing issues. Misspelled words and wrong words throughout the story. The first chapter was so confusing. It took everything I had to actually finish the story.

No clue what I just read

I don't know what to say. Good pacing in the sense I managed to read all of the book despite how nonsensical the plot. There are quite a number of plot holes which beg for logical explanation. And definitely difficult to relate to the Oz most of us know minus a couple character names (not representative of the characters we associate with). Overall I believe it just didn't make sense. Could've been a wonderful concept of family, purpose, and responsibility.

I don’t even really know where to begin reviewing this book. I kind of enjoyed it but it was so weird I struggled with it at times. A talking door a travelling cafe, people who make you fall asleep if you look at them all kind of intriguing but it was so strange half the time I didn’t understand what was going on. I would recommend it though, despite its weirdness it had its fun parts.

Just a delight to read this charming story..

This book was so entertaining. Slightly confusing in a most delightful way. Hoping Neil Cromwell keeps writing. A must read.
