I was delighted to read the third book in the trilogy and to discover the latest dramas in the lives of the three characters I love, Henry, Nancy and Jonathan. This fast-paced thriller evokes the contrasting intensities of high finance in the City of London and the claustrophobia and intricacies of life in a high security prison. Despite Henry's bad-boy past, one can't help but hope he finds the freedom and redemption he seeks. Well I won't give away whether or not he finds that in this book or whether he is further ensnared by a tangled web. And as for Nancy and Jonathan, dealing with their own fraught inner worlds and personal baggage, can they stand up to complex negative forces, or while sharing a coffee or their love of contemporary art, will they or won't they...Sorry, I'm not telling, read the book and find out! PS Thrilled that my studio and my work have a little cameo role in this latest book by Freddie P Peters.
This time, someone has tried to kill Nancy Wu, ex Qc and Inspector Pole is investigating why? Who would want her dead?
He finds evidence of an emerging new terror group, but who would gain by Nancy’s death?
Again, Henry, Nancy and Pole join forces to thwart the plans……Can they ? before anyone else dies?
This is another compelling, exciting financial crime and espionage thriller that will leave you breathless. A truly captivating series.

This story has Henry still in prison trying to find away to get out. Also in prison is an individual who seems to be a part of a new terrorist organization and who has plans to escape. Henry makes contact with Kamal, the terrorist involved with the bombing where Henry almost died. IHenry believes that the only way that he will escape is if he is outside of the prison.
An interesting case has arisen regarding possible crimes and Pole and Nancy believe that Henry can assist as he did in the prior Libor case. Arrangements are made to bring Henry from prison to Scotland Yard to assist. Henry is able to come up with the information that is needed for the case to go forward. Before Henry is able to provide the information, a riot happens at the prison. As Henry is being brought back to the prison, an unexpected event happens.
To discover what events lead up to Henry being asked to help, what information is being asked for Henry to obtain and what event happens as Henry is being returned to prison, then you need to read this book. The ending is unexpected and you won't be disappointed.
A strong thriller with plenty going on, so pay attention or you will find yourself re-reading passages. This is a book that will appeal to people who like a bit of legal intrigue and small “p” politics included in their thrillers.
I love the love/hate relationship between Pole and Harry and that Nancy stays Friends with Harry even when he is in jail. Most of the time I felt like I was right there eavesdropping Another super interesting book in this series
