A ruined vacation, a looming deadline, and a misunderstanding that leaves them stuck at the beach for Christmas. Local waitress Cindy Becker has been looking forward to her 14-Day cruise all year. Now her dream vacation is ruined and she’s stuck on Palmar Island, facing another lonely Christmas. Bestselling author Max Anderson Anderson has to finish his latest book by the end of the year or he’s done. His publisher will drop him if he can’t deliver. Desperate for inspiration, he rents a small house on Palmar Island for two weeks. Max and Cindy find themselves sharing her place with no other rentals available. When sparks fly, neither are sure if it's because they’re falling in love or just faulty Christmas lights. Stuck At The Beach For Christmas is sweet holiday romance with no cliff hangers and a HEA. Though short, this is a complete story. It is part of the Christmas on Palmar Island series. All books in the series stand alone and can be read in any order. Susanne Ash writes sweet contemporary romance. When she's not busy putting pen to paper, she loves to cook, knit, and head out exploring with her husband and daughter. She lives close to the beach in beautiful South Carolina. You'll find that her setting is often a fictionalized version of her surroundings and the places she's visiting with her family.
A delightful short story that will leave you with a smile on your face:) When Cindy and Max are forced into sharing her small beach house at Christmas time, attraction flares and it ends up being the best Christmas ever for them!! Sweet and clean romance.
Sweet and clean with a cute storyline. Interesting characters and the perfect length for a relaxing afternoon. I read an ARC and chose to give my opinion.
The Gist Cindy’s much anticipated cruise was cancelled and she was heading back home. With this fresh disappointment, the fact that she’d rented out her home while she was supposed to be gone completely slipped her mind. Oops! This is where she meets Max, an author, who needs peace and quiet to finish his book on time. Will they both stay in her house and if they do, what happens between them?
My Thoughts This short story was a fun and fast read. Cindy was recuperating from a tumultuous relationship with her ex. Max was fighting time to finish his book and save his writing career. Cindy was an enduring character. She brought a bit of calm to Max’s life, which he most certainly needed. He was wound a bit tight for my liking, but not for Cindy’s apparently! The story’s setting was mainly in Cindy’s house which made a cozy atmosphere.
In this cute, heartwarming short story, Cindy and Max are unexpectedly thrown together when Cindy’s cruise gets cancelled, leaving her no choice but to share her small beach house with Max, who had rented it while she was supposed to be away. As they spend more time together, both find themselves not only attracted to each other but also feeling comfortable in each other's company. What starts as an unexpected arrangement soon blossoms into something more, ultimately becoming the best Christmas gift they could have asked for – each other. This charming story is filled with holiday magic, love, and the joy of unexpected connections.
This was a good read, just too short with everything happening too fast, like in two weeks. That is a fast get acquainted, fall in love & everything. She was suppose to be on a cruise & her friend had rented out her Beach house for her to make some extra money. Well, her cruise ship had mechanical issues & couldn't go out & it would be a few days before they could. They wouldn't be back before her vacation would be over so she had nothing else to do but go back home. Opps she forgot her house was rented out! Now what???
Cindy was supposed to be on her way to a cruise but it got delayed by a few days leaving her unable to go due to not having extra vacation days. So she heads back home to a stranger in her shower. She totally forgot she was renting it out as an Air B&B while she was gone! This is where she meets Max a political thriller author who has a tight deadline and needs peace and quiet. Will they stay at the house together or will one of them leave?
I thought this was a cute quick read and enjoyed it !
I had a Free Copy of this book, but this is my voluntary and honest opinion. Cindy Becker’s cruise was postponed, but she didn’t have enough time off to go so she returns home to find author Max Anderson has rented her house. With no place to go, they share the house, but not without difficulties until they find they enjoy each other’s company. A touching holiday story about love and working together.
What a delightful story. Max is the proper male lead character with all the good qualities a woman wants and Cindy is the inspiration, read muse, he needs to finish his book on time. Their gifts to each other speak of caring for each other. Both are willing to compromise to have a "happy ever after".
A really cute story about the magic at Christmas. Cindy was to take a cruise so she rented her house out while she would be gone. Things happened that the cruise was delayed causing her to have to cancel her plans.
Check out what happens when she gets home. A great short story that I think you will enjoy.
What a fun, happy read! My first Christmas story in a very long time. The fact that it was short and happy made it perfect for the busy days at this time of the year. Realistic and likable characters. Highly recommend this wonderful story.
What happens when Cindy’s cruise is postponed and she has to cancel? Oh, and her house has been rented out already. Enjoyed reading about Cindy and her house guest.
This is a really short novella but it seemed to be a complete story without feeling lacking. The characters were great and the romance was sweet and clean.
She thought not getting to go on her cruise was the worst thing. But was it? She gets a roommate who thought not being alone was the worst thing. But was it? A really short and sweet romantic read.
This book had potential and for a rapid read christmas novella this was cute but be aware of what you're getting.
This is an extremely short 38 page novella so the story moves incredibly quick. I found too many details to be seriously lacking for a strangers to lovers romance. There was so little information about the characters I couldn't get a picture in my head of them, their lifestyles, her job, their family's, or believe in their relationship.
With the two week holiday cruise Cindy had planned now cancelled she returns home to find a strange man in her house. Then she remembers her friend had rented it for her. With no other lodging available Cindy agrees to let author Max Anderson stay so he can finish his latest novel.
When Max flips out over something Cindy does she believes he's just like her ex and she leaves. Will Max be able to repair the damage he's done to their fledgling relationship before it's too late?
A story that grabbed my attention and interest right off the bat. Interesting characters and storyline that I enjoyed. I also think this could have been upgraded to a solid 5 star with just a few more pages. If you want a quick read to fill some time this is the book for you. A definite clean, sweet read that will leave you with a smile. VICKI FROM WYOMING
