Dear Diary, Does This Cancer Make My Ass Look Fat?: A Heartfelt Memoir With A Pinch Of Sarcasm

Rate this book
What, you’ve never worn a coconut bra to chemotherapy? At thirty-six, Kimberly considered herself lucky - her life revolved around coffee, cats, and cracking jokes. Unfortunately, another “C” word lurked in the shadows. She watched helplessly as her old reality gave way to a new one. A scarier one. A bald, bizarre, baffling way of life. How could her body betray her like this? But despite the daunting diagnosis, Kimberly faced her fears with colorful costumes, wild wigs, and a sprinkle of sass. With every tear she shed, eyelash she lost, and meltdown she endured, Kimberly realized that a little darkness doesn’t have to dampen your spirit. Because cancer isn’t funny - but a touch of tumor humor might be the perfect prescription.

Meh

I’m a newly diagnosed cancer patient and I was hoping for laughs, information and comfort. Started off great but then had me thinking “I don’t care how much you spent on wigs, vacations and such!” I can’t spend $11,000 on wigs. I’m having trouble paying my out of pocket copays. I feel like this started great. Normal person going thru cancer but it evolved into a semi political, silver spoon story!

Yes, she survived, but most people don’t have the advantages she had/has, so I felt left out.

I have cancer but not breast cancer, this book helped me because it is nice to hear other people's perspective when they are going through chemotherapy. Cancer sucks and it is nice to get some laughs out through the journey.
