It all started on her eighteenth birthday and now one ghost, in particular, won’t leave her alone. To appease the spirit, and her curiosity, Abby follows it to the small mountain town of Buern. There, she finds far more than she bargained for.
She’s half-Faye and her kind are being murdered for their magic. Can Abby help stop the killings before she becomes the next victim?
Wesley O’Bryne has lived his entire life up in the mountains of the Wenatchee National Forest, with his adopted father and pack. For a werewolf, his life has been normal. Until a strange girl wanders into town, smelling like magic.
Together, Abby and Wesley discover that the strange attraction they have for one another is powerful. But is it powerful enough to stop an evil witch and save everyone?
This was a fantastic paranormal debut by Sarah Beth. More than a romance, it had a solid storyline that kept me engaged. Loved the beautiful mountain winter scenes. The murders, missing witches, and ghosts kept the story intriguing.
The Faye's Secret is a great story. Abby is a great character. I love how she goes with the flow and the punches. Check triggers if this book has them. Great read, can't wait to see what happens next.

The Faye's Secret is Book 1 of the Keepers of Light series by Sarah Beth. This is the first of her books that I have read but can't wait to read more from her. This book caught my attention right off the bat, couldn't put it down. Abby is a college girl who can see spirits. She goes to a mountain town where she meets her True Mate Wesley, a werewolf. Girls are getting murdered and Abby, along with Wesley's small pack are trying to solve them. She comes under attack and Wesley's pack saves her. The ending of this book is a solid lead in to the second book. I highly recommend this book to all paranormal romance readers.

Well written with great characters and world building. Page turner. Could not put it down. I look forward to reading the rest of the series. I love this author and she has become one of my top author's.

I absolutely adore Abby and Wesley and the world the author created. Certain chapters had me grinning and others made me want to curl up in a blanket with a mug of hot coffee. Sarah Beth deftly weaves romance, mystery, and even a bit of horror together for a great read. Highly recommend!
Overall Due to odd and unprecedented events, I read book two in this series, which I believe has not yet been released. Naturally, my curiosity got the better of me, and I simply had to read book one. Because I know what happens in the next instalment, and by extension in this one, I’m not doing the CC on The Faye’s Secret. Which is a shame. I’ve been looking forward to snarking about Urban Fantasy clichés. The Faye’s Secret is your standard Urban Fantasy novel. It starts with the mc realising something is off about her, followed by a “You’re a wizard, Harry” moment, and then finding the mc has extra ordinary powers, even for super naturals. As is often the case with popular media content, it’s never about the idea. It’s always the execution. And Beth’s execution was simply stunning. She even departed from traditional views of how werewolves are made, and I haven’t heard of her take on Faye births before. The Faye’s Secret is a short novel, which made for light and quick reading. I finished reading it in one sitting. Keeping my attention on a single novel when there is a lockdown and I have unlimited content on Netflix and Kindle is nothing short of a miracle. Beth has created a world rich with supernatural creatures and their histories. All the characters from Elazar, to Alex and Tori certainly have stories behind them. I cannot wait to hear them. “He had never been so thankful main street Buern wasn’t a busy thoroughfare. What was she doing? Her body had gone completely still and her eyes were wide, staring down the road at… nothing. He was about to excuse himself and run into the road to get the crazy woman, but then someone else got her moving for him. A gray truck coming down the road stopped behind her and honked.”
Relationships As someone always complaining about Romance, it will come as no shock I’m weary of magic induced romance, IE magic awesomeness that has our hormones raging, and we should therefore have babies. Sadly, The Faye’s Secret had that exact type of romance. But this is Urban Fantasy, and such relationships seem to have become a staple in the genre. The best I can hope for is Abby and Wesley’s relationship will have an organic growth despite the magic. I have to give Wesley thumbs up for realising he was acting in a controlling manner, and actually apologising for it. That is more than I can say about that other stalker from that other series that shall remain nameless. I felt some of the relationships in this novel were too cute. EG Everyone likes Abby from day one, and everyone is besties with everyone. I would have thought someone would remain suspicious of Abby up to the end. On the other hand, Abby and Tori are not at each other’s throats, so I’m not complaining.
Negatives In many a Fantasy works, you will have the mc ignore the advice of experienced people, and rush head long into danger. Sometimes they even become a liability. Abby has a similar experience. While all things work out at the end, I cannot help roll my eyes every time that script plays out. On another note, we never got to know who was the police contact, or why the authorities were being tight lipped. Maybe that will be explained in future instalments.
Favourite The Faye’s Secret quotes “Turning to her, he laced his fingers in front of him.“Because, child, that is something that you will find out when the time is right. Whether I am the person to tell you or not.” He stepped closer to her, until he could rest a hand on her shoulder. He did not, however. “But know this – you are a child of the Earth and the Earth will never abandon you. Do you understand?”” “Calling on her power, to whatever energy was left in her exhausted body, her eyes began to glow as she said, “You said you wanted more than a taste, didn’t you? How about a whole meal?””
Abby is Half Faye and can see ghosts. And one ghost in particular will not leave her alone. To make the ghost happy she follows the ghost to a small mountain town and there she finds her mate Wesley who is a wolf. She also finds that her kind are being killed fir their magic. Can Wesley and Abby find out who is killing them in time ? I can't wait for the next book. I really enjoyed this book and would recommend it.

After so many years as an outsider, was she finally going to get some answers?
Seeing things is one thing but hearing them speak is something completely different! Abby finds herself following the suggestion given by a ghost, to a small town she has never heard of. What could possibly go wrong?
This well written book was received through BookSprout. These thoughts and rating are my own and were in no way solicited.
This was my first time reading this author and I loved it. I loved the characters and the storyline. I couldn’t put it down. I can’t wait to read the next instalment. Magic, Fae / Faye, werewolves, fated mates. Great chemistry between Wesley & Abby. I loved it!
