That awkward moment when the hunky alien you just met proposes marriage...

Alien warrior and single father Thade needs a human bride. He travels to Earth, hoping he'll be matched with a sweet human who will help him raise his four energetic children. When the first human matched to him backs out of their mating contract, he's forced to seek out a bride on his own. But the moment he meets Alana, the golden-haired beauty who's supposed to watch his offspring while he goes "out on the dating scene," he realizes his search need not go any further. She's the only human for him--even if she doesn't agree yet. One way or another, he's taking her back to New Vaxx with him.

Alana is shocked when she shows up at her newest babysitting gig to find out she's supposed to watch four alien children--three of whom are taller than her. She's stunned speechless when their hunky father proposes marriage to her within minutes of her walking through the door. Thade seems like a nice alien and a loving father, but she has her whole life planned out on Earth. But as she gets to know him better, she cannot imagine watching him leave her planet with another woman as his bride. Could she really find happiness on a faraway world?

This is another fantastic story! I love reading about the Vaxxlians and the search for mates. I loved seeing Thade get his mate and his kids get a mother again.

Thade and his kids have traveled to Earth to find a mate and mother. His kids are a little wild. When his mail order bride backs out at the last second, Thade has to scrambled to figure out what to do next. Alana is hired to watch his kids while he looks for a mate. Thade has decided that she will be his mate. Will he be able to convince her that they are a match before it’s too late?

What a sweet story about a widowed dad and his four kids that need the perfect woman for them. Thade brings his kids with him to Earth to fetch his matched mate but things don't work out and he now needs to find his own mate in NYC. The city has become toxic, from the air to the rebellion that wants better for themselves. Alana is the childcare or on call babysitter For the hotel that Thade and his kids are staying at and as far as Thade is concerned, Alana is the woman for he and his kids. This would have been a very short book if Alana agreed with Thane, but she is convinced that her plans are written in stone and leaving Earth for another planet with aliens isn't for her. Thane's kids are well behaved for the most part and everyone seems to get along well, if it weren't for Alana's reluctance to leave her life on Earth, their HEA would have been achieved much sooner. I am sad to see this is the last of the Vaxxlian mail order brides, I enjoyed every book so far.

Babysitter or Bride? This is another sweet romance in this series! Thade comes to Earth with his four children to claim his bride. But the woman chosen through the Vaxxlian Mail Order Brides program bails on him. Now he must find a mate. When he meets the hotel babysitter hired to watch his children while he searches for his mate, he is immediately enamored by her and his attraction just grows as he watches her with his children so he proposes. At first, Alana can't begin to think about leaving Earth with him but she slowly changes her mind. I really enjoyed this story and on to the next in the series.

My least favorite so far. It was just pages and pages of the heroine saying and thinking she couldn’t possibly become his mate. There isn’t a lot of chemistry as she seems to like his kids more than she likes him. Then it’s capped by a Big Misunderstanding. There is only one sex scene, at the very end, and it’s brief and unfulfilling.

Also WTF is up with the pets? In the first story it just seemed like an easy way to show that the hero was soft-hearted, okay fine. In the second it was a little silly, but at least made for a laugh. But here it is in the third story for no reason except to follow the pattern and to make the heroine put herself in danger. It’s worn real thin.

Stubborn Little Human

I read this last book about the Vaxxlian brother Thade and I wanted to knock his pretty little human up side her head! The series has great characters, some sex and light action. But it’s the characters that really make the story, especially the interactions between the human female and the alien male. I personally couldn’t understand why Alana had such a hard time accepting what was right in front of her face. She was just stubborn and pigheaded. But, I did enjoy the story and now I have to find more books about the Vaxxlians!

Thade is an alien and has traveled for months with his four children to meet the human female that is to be his mate. But things won’t be easy from the start. Can he find a female who will love his children and him? Will she be willing to leave Earth? Alana works as a babysitter for a high end hotel. She will watch over Thade’s children while he is here. But what she feels for him makes her nervous and confused. Will love and safety be enough to win the heart of the female he picks?

Another book in series

I just finished book 3 in the series. I am enjoying the book. Love getting to know Thade and Alana in this story along with the children. I enjoyed seeing the children characters come in to play. You will enjoy reading the book just like the other 2 books. Enjoy your time with the story.

adventures in babysitting

I liked this one of the series best. Alana is an unemployed teacher in New York when Thade is rejected by his matched mate. She is hired to babysit the children while he finds a replacement but he decides he wants her.

Enjoyable read
Enjoyed reading how Thade and his children found the perfect woman to join their family. Alana was the perfect woman to fill the void left when Thade’s wife died, even if she didn’t believe it at first.

Wanted more

Depth. It was on the surface a good book. The plot, characters were good.
But I felt like it was on the cusp of a great story.

Thade and his children -- daughter, Yulna, his twins Krezz and Flatt, and the oldest, Xerrn -- finally made it to Earth after a 3-month journey on the transport. Five hundred Vaxxlian warriors arrived to collect their new mates, human females to whom they had been matched through a mail order bride program. They found her apartment, but the woman who answered the door was not happy to see them. She had applied to the program when she was fighting with her boyfriend. They were together again and she was no longer interested – nor would she want to raise someone else’s children. She slammed the door in Thade’s face.

Thade and his children went to a hotel and he booked the Presidential Suite. A childcare provider, Alana, was sent to meet him and would care for the children while he went out to find a replacement bride willing to marry and live on New Vaxx. Alana had already worked 50 hours this week and was exhausted. But the overtime would be worth it. She was surprised when the tall, handsome alien opened the door and invited her in. One of the twins broke the food replicator, so while Thade went to the kitchen to fix it, Alana met the other children in the living area. The boys were all taller than her 5’8”, and they each started asking questions about whether she was mated, did she like children, and would she like to marry their father! Thade, who had heard her answers, asked her to speak with him privately. To her shock, he asked her to marry him, but she refused since they didn’t know each other and she couldn’t leave Earth or her friends.

When the kids were in bed, Alana looked at all the paintings they had done of their planet. She felt a pang of warmth for them. Thade’s children had treated her with kindness and respect, cleaned up their own messes from their activities, and were helpful preparing the table for lunch and dinner. Yulna cried in her sleep for her mother, and Alana held her close and comforted her. Thade found them cuddled up asleep when he returned early the next morning. The kind lady from the front desk, Maggie Hampton, had given him ideas on how to romance a woman. After his fruitless search for a mate, he wondered if he could romance Alana? Her eyes opened, but she hadn’t seen him there as she stroked Yulna and whispered soft words of comfort. Thade began to gift her with flowers, jewelry, candy, and stuffed animals, even when she said it was not appropriate since she worked for him. Her crush from the first day never lessened and, this time when she reminded him to go look for a bride, her heart wasn’t in it. She might even be feeling jealousy?

The city was having more and more riots as things worsened. Thade told her he wanted her to stay in his suite for her safety. He wanted her to be his mate. It already felt like she was part of his family. His children adored her and he held great affection for her too. But why was she still pushing him to go out and find a bride? Maybe it was time to ask her again to marry him?

This was such a wonderful story that melts the reader’s heart. Thade’s children were so adorable. And seeing what a wonderful father he was would make any woman love him. Why does Alana think her plans for life on Earth were anywhere near as precious as what she had right in front of her? Would she see the truth in time before she lost this family who already wanted her in their lives?

My favorite!

Fair warning - if you are searching for a book with lots of physical interaction, this is not the book for you. If you are looking for some over-protective Vaxxlians (both large and not so large) with a sweet story, stop reading these reviews and grab this book.

I loved that we get to know the children and that they aren't just objects for the story. Thade's mail order mate was a witch and a half and even though it put Thade in a bad situation, I am glad he didn't have to waste any time on her. That being said, Thade is the first to actually have to search for a mate and actually win one. Some women have the mothering instinct and others don't, thank heavens Alana does. Thade's courtship is stalled by Alana's childhood brainwashing. Thankfully, society's breakdown helps Alana get her priorities straightened out.

Great characters, good storytelling, and one obnoxious bird. It is a short read maybe a long lunch or evening read. It also gives an epilogue on the three brothers and their mates, an added bonus in my opinion.

I want to thank the author for allowing me a review copy of this book. I really enjoy this author's writing and I have purchased, borrowed, and ARC'd her books. Grab them and enjoy!

Not only was Thade romancing her but the children were as well!
by sewsummore

Thade had been disapointed when he arrived on Earth to collect his bride, only to find she had changed her mind. Desperate for a mate and mother for his children he organised a baby sister for his children and went searching for a bride himself. Alana was the childrens baby sitter and had been surprised when Thade had asked her to be his mate when he first met her, but she soon realized that he had been serious when he started to romance her with gifts. She had grown attached to the children but to marry a stranger and leave Earth was something she had not wanted, regardless of her growing attachment to the children's father. However when conditions on Earth became dangerous, Thade decided to make the decision for her and she didnt resist. This was a romance that captured my imagination. Not only was Thade romancing her but the children made no secret that they wanted her to return with them.

A captivating enjoyable read…..
Thade had thought that he had his future sorted with the mail order bride that had agreed to marry him and join his family, however this had fallen through and he had employed Andrea as his babysitter to mind his four children.
It is not long before he realises that he has me the woman he has been looking for she loves his children; the four children love her and he is very sure that he is more than a little attracted to he himself. Andrea has also realised that caring for Thade and his children has become so much more than just a job she has fallen in love with them all.
Is she going to end up with a broken heart when he hinds another Mail Order Bride, or can she express her true feelings?

I thoroughly enjoyed the book and look forward to reading any future publications; keep up all the great writing.

This was such an awesome read and Sue Mercury has become one of my favorite go to authors. If you are looking for a book with an over protective hot alpha male than this is the book for you! I loved Thade and Alana they were well developed, well written and went well together. I enjoyed watching them grow as a couple. Thade goes to earth to pick up his mail order bride with his children. When he gets there his intended mate backs out. In comes Alana a childcare person from the hotel to watch his four children while he try's to find a new mate. From the first moment they meet sparks fly and he knows she is the one, now to try to convince Alana he is the one for her. This is where Thade has a crash course in romance and wooing his new human mate. It's a awesome, amazing story you don't want to miss, a must read for any fan! I can't wait to read more!!!

Slow burn romance against a backdrop of increasing danger

Thade, a Vaxxlian commander, has survived the loss of his planet ands beloved mate. His four children have miraculously survived, and the hopeful widower, progeny in tow, is in New York City to claim his mail order human bride. Murphy's Law intervenes, with typically disastrous results, leaving the alien dad and kiddies stranded n a NYC hotel while he searches in vain for a replacement human bride candidate. He's got fourteen days... Alana, the hotel's on-call child care provider watches the kids, and maybe she watches hunky Thade too? He certainly watches her, and really likes what he sees. A young woman who has fourteen days to jettison some hefty baggage and take up with a lonely alien crying out for love... Heat, angst, sweetness, and lotsa good feels.

Thade , A former galactic commander, is in search of a mate. During a war his Mate saved their offspring by putting them in escape pod as her life was sacrificed. So now, he is here on earth with his four kids in a crazy polluted riot having New York City. He stays in the hotel he needing a babysitter because the mate he was assigned from the mail order bride system changed her mind. She decided that she didn’t want an alien guy with kids. This is a new twist on finding romance with the aliens. No four arms, no third eye or seeing eye, or any of that other stuff. ( Even though I love those)This is it me this is male who needs to find a mate. Who wants to find a mate. With all the craziness that he is in endured getting and going through New York City, his eye is all the babysitter. The question is how could he convince her to be his mate into weeks?. A HEA and no cliffhangers are needed.

Preferably you have read the other books in this series but if not, this can be read as a standalone. You'll want to go back and read the others though since they are also worth reading. Thade has arrived on Earth with his children to pick up his mail order bride but she refuses to be his mate. Since there aren't any other brides available then he decides to find his own bride. Alana shows up to babysit his children and immediately he knows he wants her for his mate. I adored Thade's children. His oldest, eight year old Xerrn always tried to act so mature and the youngest, two year old Yulna, was such a sweet little girl. The twins were full of energy and although they could be a handful, you couldn't help but care about them. I loved Thade and Alana - they were great individual characters and fantastic together.

This is the third book in the series about Vaxxlian males coming to earth to find their “mail order brides.” Thade’s bride has changed her mind and gone back to her boyfriend leaving Thade and his children two weeks to find a replacement. Enter Alana, a babysitter from the hotel where they are staying. She is resistant to his invitation to return to his home planet because she doesn’t know him and isn’t sure she wants to leave her home since she thinks she needs to stay and help heal the earth.
This is a sweet little romance with some humorous moments. His approach to finding a bride is funny if you picture a man wandering the streets of New York approaching random women asking them to be his bride.
This is an enjoyable story and a quick read.

Thade and his four children have come to Earth to claim his new mate but find she has changed her mind. Now he going to search on his own for a mate and the hotel has a babysitter registry to accommodate his children. Alana is sent to his suite and he is automatically taken with the way she interacts with his children that he asks her to become his mate. She refuses and he searches New York City for a new mate with no success, then he decides Alana is the one he wants and begins to court her. Alana refuses even though NYC is becoming a war zone, with riots occurring in the streets, and violence occurring all around. There is a HEA but it takes awhile. The story is well written, entertaining and keeps your attention. I would recommend this book as a great read.

Thade is one of 3 brothers come from New Vaxx to find brides on Earth but when he gets to her apartment, with his 4 kids in tow, her finds she no longer want to be a bride! So, he needs to look for one on his own in a foreign environment! Enter Alana, a baby sitter at the hotel he resides in! She falls in love with the kids, and him but feels she cannot leave earth because of her parents! This leads to our tale and a good one it is! I loved the characters, particularly the kids, who are forthright, as kids are wont to be! It is a tale, well told and as it is the 3rd in the series of the 3 brothers concludes all their tales nicely!
All in all a good, quick, read!

Thade thought when he met his mail order bride Andrea things would fall into place. It never works out that way. Alana was a babysitter for hire. She figured it was just another job watching someone’s children but it was so much more. I have to say it took her a while to realize that no Vaxxlian Warrior lies. She had feelings for him but kept fighting them. His kids are like any normal human child, rambunctious and at times silly. I felt for their loss but these four were strong and knew that Alana was the one for them. I did at times want to shake her. She kept on saying that she couldn’t leave Earth but why not. Earth was a mess and heck I would leave if I had the chance too. I enjoyed all the books. Who wouldn’t want a hot handsome, sexy alien.

Thade goes to Earth to pick up his mail order bride. When he get there with his four children he finds that his intended mate is backing out of the agreement, she has a boyfriend and she hates kids. Wow, what a bi**ch. So the go to a hotel so he can find a mate on his own. He has the hotel get a childcare person, Alana, and goes to find a mate. (No such luck in NYC) This is where Thade get a crash course in wooing a human woman. Such a great story. The children are a riot and try to talk Alana into mating with their father. Plenty of adventure, drama, riots (naturally NCY style) and Thade and Alana getting to know each other. Wonderful story. I liked how it ended. Another absolutely great book. I totally loved it. Hooked from the beginning.

Thade comes to earth, with his 4 children, to get a human mate. When he arrives at the door of his chosen one, from the mail order bride service, she is rude to him and refuses him. So Thade decides to find his own mate. It does not go well. Females run from him, ignore him or are already mated.

Alana works as a babysitter at a posh hotel. Though she wants to be a teacher, she just can not get a job. She takes on the job of caring for Thade's kids.

All goes well until the day of the riots..... Will they survive?....

My favorite part was with Charlie. He was so funny! I wish I could get a parrot like that!!

Great ending to this series, although I do wish there were more to come. Thade is very determined to persuade his babysitter to be his mate, he is also patient and a dedicated father. The kids are a bit rambunctious yet so sweet and instantly connect with Alana. She is independent, stubborn about leaving Earth and fighting her attraction. This is the perfect solution for her though and she just fits them. Thade really romances her and really shows her that his heart has chosen her. Heartwarming, humorous with a few nail-biting moments. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Well written and thoroughly enjoyable read

This was a wonderful romance that's very fitting as the ending of this trio of stories. Three brothers looking for mates, three gals lucky to fit the bill. Thade was super sweet but still a warrior and father. Alana was a great caregiver and she sure sparked chemistry with Thade when they were in a room together. The kids were so much fun and so was Charlie. This was a family affair and while it has some angst/drama, and extreme danger, it's not action packed. I really enjoyed their journey and rooted for them all through the book - especially when the kids were trying to 'help' ;) Good fun!

Such a great read I really enjoyed the new addition to this series. Thade comes to Earth with his four children looking for a mate but his intended rejects him. Instead of waiting for a new mate to become available he decides he will find his own. However she ends up finding him when she comes to babysit his children. Can he convince Alana that he is the male for her? Alana is not sure if she is ready to leave Earth for another planet but can a sexy widowed father and his adorable children change her mind? I really enjoyed this story this series is always good but I really liked the family aspect in this story.

I was so looking forward to this book after reading all the others in the series. I could not wait for Thade and his mate to find each other. I was also looking forward to the children since they are not often a part of alien romances. I think my expectations were too much. The story was still good and I will read the next but I was also disappointed. They did not have a real conversation ever, he did not kiss her until almost 80% in and the children were bigger than she was so almost zero cute happy feelings.
