Was eager to read this one as this was from a Woman's point of view and each woman was dealing with a Deadly Sin

So you have Kathy Acker speaking of Lust;
Leslie Dick with Envy;
Fairbains with Covetousness;
Alison Fell with Sloth; Sara Maitland is the Glutton;
Agnes Owens with Pride and Michele Roberts with Anger.

But after Covetousness and Anger I was ploughing through Sloth...I just said, 'These stories are not for me, they are convoluted devoid of any spirit,' so I add it to my list of abandoned.

Too many books too little time!

I wanted this book to be better than it was. I find the premise interesting, "...a reclaiming of the Sins in a fairly playful feminist sense." But I really did not find that it lived up to that. There were definite feminist themes, which were interesting, especially given the time these stories were published (1988). At times I found myself a little lost because of the time period and because of the country difference (I'm in USA, writers are from UK); however I can work through that. I just wanted more from this book. A true reclaiming of the Sins, but, alas, it left me wanting.

Anger (Wrath), Gluttony, and Envy were the best of the seven.
