Quotation Marks: Teaching the Basics About Quotation Marks Without Putting Students to Sleep

Rate this book
Students learn all the basics about using quotation marks correctly with this downloadable book, part of our Teaching the Boring Stuff series. The activities are interesting to young people, often using a "monster" theme to keep their attention. (Don't worry; they are "wholesome" monsters!).

Quotation Marks uses language that real kids can understand. Also, students are asked to do much more than just fill in punctuation marks. They are required to use what they learn, incorporating quotation marks correctly into material they write themselves.

I don't use this book as intended, but it is a good source of sample sentences, writing activities, and rules for using quotation marks. Use it for minilessons, group activities, review games, or your emergency sub folder.
