Presents a history of medical innovations from the development of acupuncture in 2700 B.C. to the advent of cloning and the manufacture of bodily organs in 1997.
I've added my second novel, "Bitter Sins" to my books now. I'm quite pleased with it. She's been demanding that her stories be told for a while now. And there's more on the way...
I'd already written three nonfiction books, "50 Fabulous Tomatoes for Your Garden," "Ghost Towns" and "100 Medical Milestones That Shaped World History," and a cookbook "The Soul of California - Cooking for the Holidays."
FYI: I am working on several more projects. (You can see sneak peeks at www.ruthdj.net.)
I currently write informational and how-to articles for online publication (yes, I get paid for them!), published on Paw Nation, eHow, SF Gate, AZ Central and more.
Last, but not least, I have a book website, Alien Star Books http://www.alienstarbooks.com that focuses on science fiction and fantasy for teens and young adults of Color. I'm always looking for age-appropriate books that feature protagonists of Color. I also have a page on the website for science-based fiction and non-fiction. Recommendations for new books are always welcomed!
I expected my biggest complaint about a juvenile nonfiction text published in 1998 to be that it contained outdated information but holy cow, this book was riddled with typos! Even as early as page 9, where the name of an ancient Indian surgeon is misspelled. 😬 The quality of the 100 series has come a long way!
