I'm determined to update all the books I've read and will read in 2024, so expect many. Won't have time for wordy reviews!

Contains patterns for lots of non-square quilts. I especially like the Texas Stars pattern and would consider making this one particularly at some point...directions are only for one size for this pattern, though...46" by 56". I originally looked up this book for a grandmother's flower garden pattern, but the one included here has an interlocking design for the rosette borders, which I do not like as well. Also the finished size for this design is only available as 36" by 45". The "Rosettes with Hexagon Border" is more what I was looking for in a Grandmother's Flower Garden Design and this one also includes measurements for a crib, twin or double/queen blanket. The "Stars and Rosettes" pattern is nearly exactly what I was looking for, with the exception that it uses a border which I didn't want and would make the sizing off from their proposed 83" by 93" finished size. Also, while the instructions are for machine-piecing, I don't think I have the patience to machine-piece hexagons, preferring instead to use trapezoids to make hexagons. Ultimately, I'd rather design my own pattern than use any of these, but it was still helpful to look through these patterns as a starting-off point. Some of the non-hexagon patterns are very neat, too, the curved ones especially.
