Lucy Quinn

Lucy Quinn is the brainchild of New York Times bestselling author Deanna Chase and USA Today bestselling author Violet Vaughn. Having met over a decade ago in a lampwork bead forum, the pair were first what they like to call “show wives” as they traveled the country together, selling their handmade glass beads. So when they both started writing fiction, it seemed only natural for the two friends to pair up with their hilarious, laugh-out-loud, cozy mysteries. At least they think so. Now they travel the country, meeting up in various cities to plan each new Lucy Quinn book while giggling madly at themselves and the ridiculous situations they force on their characters. They very much hope you enjoy them as much as they do.

Deanna Chase, is a native Californian, transplanted to the slower paced lifestyle of southeastern Louisiana. When she isn’t writing, she is often goofing off with her husband in New Orleans, playing with her two shih tzu dogs, or making glass beads.

Violet Vaughn lives in coastal New Hampshire where she spends most mornings in the woods with her dogs, summer at the ocean, and winters skiing in the mountains of Maine.

3.7 stars rounded up. I'm not sure about this one, it was a little more of a humourous book then a just plain cozy and it was quite fun. Was unsure what I would think about this revolving cannabis but in the end it wasn't a huge issue I got along well in the story anywho. Not my favorite cozy and I didn't quite have the excitement towards a book I desire from a cozy mystery.

Chaos in California (Accidentally Undercover Mysteries Book 3)
Two wacky women (Dora & Evie) along with a little pup are still trying to find evidence to clear one of them of murder. What follows is a crazy adventure in California that includes a pot farm, pigs, murder, adultery and a whole lot of fun. Another enjoyable installment from Lucy Quinn.

Let me preface this with I happen to be a big fan of this author and her other book series. It is uncomfortable to have NOT enjoyed one of her books. However, so far this is my least favorite book of this series. I kept putting the book down, or finding something else to do besides reading. What I usually read in a day if I have the time, or at most 2 days, took 12 days to get through!

The writing was not the same in this book as in the others. I kept thinking someone else must have written parts of this book because it just didn't flow like her other books. It needed to be better edited. There were a lot of unnecessary descriptions that didn't add to the story and the writing was jerky and amateurish in many sections. The story line was meh. I did, however, like the ending (not joking).

I have pre-ordered the next in the series since I enjoyed the first two books quite a bit, I have hope that the next will be of that same caliber.

This was a fun story to read!
I love each characters but I'll talk about the two main characters their crazy and funny. The messes they get into just never stop! Thier loveable and make you fall into the story as do the other characters. The story is full of twists and turns, mystery, drama and so much more. This book is a must read but you should read the two before because they all work together for the best fun I think. You will want them all! And they will add fun to your life. I can't wait for the next book to come out.
Voluntarily review a copy and I honestly loved it

After helping solve two murders in New Orleans it’s time for Dora & Evie to track the Buddha that has the flash drive to help clear Dora of the murder in Pensacola.

Tracking the buddha takes them to California and a whole new set of problems before they can get the flash drive!

Windy’s farm is the location they head to and she has some conditions before she’ll release the flash drive. Like solve a murder - of course! Here we go again!

Dora and Evie continue their adventure to California to try to recover the evidence that will set Dora free. Another book I just could not put down. This adventure had me guessing for a while if Windy was to be trusted or not. I enjoyed the way the story was written as clues to the mystery were uncovered. I cannot wait to see what awaits Dora, Evie and Sunshine in Montana! I'm hopeful for them!

I think the writer and editors need a better proofreader. Nothing is so annoying to me as inane grammatical errors, misspellings, "extra" words, etc.

The "story" has continued over three novels now without an ending...really? How many books does someone have to read before there is a conclusion?

Each book ends abruptly...sorry...I am not holding my breathe for more of the same.

Dora and Evie are still trying to prove Dora's innocence and wind up in California! Dora and Evie are a hoot and the new characters just add to the fun. Can't wait to read the next adventure. I received an ARC and this is my honest opinion.

Okay so we have yet another cliffhanger😐. That is irritating but it is still a good story. I hope the girls go home soon because Evie is getting on my nerves. 😒 Not sure how Dora doesn't smack her silly ALL THE TIME! 😉

Wow great installment of the Accidentally Undercover Mysteries...
Evie and Dora are on the road again with their 4 legged sidekick...Sunshine. Sunshine kind of steals the show in this book...
Dora and Evie are still on the road looking for the flash drive that can exonerate Dora from murder.
They end up in California and we get to meet some really awesome characters in this book.
I love Windy and her protectors!
Dora and Evie have to solve a murder mystery again...kind of a bribe from Windy...you solve this death (police are ruling it accidental but Windy doesn't believe it) and I'll give you the flash drive.
They end up solving the murder but when they get back to Windy's there is trouble...they find Windy in her secret hideout and the 3 of them hightail it out of there...
Another road trip for Dora and Evie....I wonder where they will end up
Highly recommend if you like cozy mysteries..
I thoroughly enjoyed every page

Thank you to Lucy Quinn for allowing me to read a digital ARC of this story...

Is the third time the charm? Dora and Evie have arrived in California with the expectation of obtaining the evidence to clear Dora of a murder charge, but nothing ever quite goes smoothly with these two best friends. Another woman is in hiding and provides a temporary home, promising the return of the Buddha containing the flash drive with the proof of innocence if the girls will help solve the mysterious death of a close friend. Once again, these two along with Sunshine, the amazingly talented Bichon, are on the case, producing many hilarious situations and close brushes with danger. Will our heroines ever get back to Pensacola, clear Dora’s name and reunite with the men they left behind? I love Dora and Evie, and Lucy Quinn continues to introduce new and even more entertaining characters, who keep the story moving in unexpected and exciting directions. I’m never sure what’s going to happen next, but I can’t wait to find out. Note: I received an ARC from the author, but this is my voluntary review of this entertaining book.

This is an very interesting series but the race is on the get the drive. They meet up with the lady who got it in the mail but Windy has they are told after many things it has been sent to a safe place.
In order to get the disc drive the girls must solve the mystery of who killed Kyle. So off they go tracking down suspects and gathering information. In addition to solving the mystery they must do chores for it. I will not say what. It it could get messy, lol!
So you add in all the clues plus plot twists and the girls get their man and Sunshine is still an interesting character. Yes, there is romance with humor splashed in but I think you will enjoy the book but the ending will keep you in the knowing for the next book in the series!

ENTERTAINING MURDER MYSTERY

Fabulous character interaction, a few surprises, vivid picturesque scene descriptions, a murder mystery, and witty banter make "California Chaos" an entertaining read.

Evie and Dora are still hunting for the Buddha that has the evidence to clear Dora from a murder. While in Cali, they build new friendships and are coaxed into solving a murder. They also find themselves in a few sticky situations. Sunshine the Bichon pup's antics will have you smiling and laughing.

Loving this read, I voluntarily reviewed a pre-release copy via the author.

Dora, Evie, and of course the pup are still chasing the evidence to clear Dora from a murder. California is beautiful and green with plants containing 5 leaves and is legal there. It seems that the person with her evidence is only willing to part with it if the "sleuths" solve a murder mystery for her. Oh, yeah, and work on her farm involving pigs and Canibus and other things.

There is plenty of humor, some scary times, puppy humor, and yeah, even some romance.

You'll enjoy this new chapter in freeing Dora with some surprises as well as another cliff hanger but there is no cliff in sight--or a ladder.

Great addition to the series! This is the 3rd installment in the Accidentally Undercover series, and you will need to read from book 1 to understand what is going on. That said, I had a hard time putting this book down! It picks up where the last one left off, and is just as packed full of action and sass as the last too! I really like Windy, and how she helps the girls out in her own way. I do think Evie took things too far on occasion with her “acting”, but the story wouldn’t be the same without those antics! Lol!!
I can’t wait for the next in the series as this one ended on a cliffhanger too!

The adventures of Dori, Evie, and Sunshine have now moved on to California. The girls are still on the hunt for the evidence to exonerate Dori in the killing of her money laundering boss. Their hunt leads them to Clamshell Cove and a cannabis farm. They soon learn that their flash drive will be held hostage until they help solve a local murder. Unable to leave without they flashdrive, they agree to help Windy Weather's investigation into the death of hiker Matt/Kyle.
This is a laugh out loud series that keeps you guessing. I can only image the fun they will have on the ranch in Montana.
I received an ARC from the author for purposes of an unbiased review.

These books keep getting more fun to read and the characters keep growing in unexpected ways. How can the search for a simple flash drive cause so much trouble? I'm starting to feel sorry for these two as they chase it around the country, but am glad to be along for the ride.
Once again, this is a well-written page-turner that keeps you guessing right up to the end. I eagerly anticipate the next book!

I love the new places they visit with each story and the new people we get to meet Windy is an awesome new character I also really love how Dora and Evie solve mysteries they really are a great team and then there Luke and Trace always there for a hug before sending the girls off on another leg of their endless journey but what a fun ride it’s been so far I’m really looking forward to more for these two wacky girls.

Evie and Dora are still on the trail of that elusive Buddha Bank. A trail which leads them to a weird enclave in California where not everyone is what, or who, they appear to be!

Windy and her compatriots are a weird bunch. You're never too sure who is a good guy with a streak of blad luck or if they really are a bad guy! But to get their flash drive they need to help solve ANOTHER murder.

Sushi (aka Sunshine) just about steals every scene she appears in! And there are a couple of very welcome allies and one big puzzle piece is cleared up!

A modern day Laverne and Shirley or Ethel and Lucy. Everyone should have a bestie like Dora and Evie. This is a fun book with a great storyline and quirky likable characters.

Dora and Evie are still trying to clear Dora from being accused of murder by retrieving a flash drive with evidence of her innocence. They’ve made it to California and find themselves hooked into solving a murder for Windy who runs a marijuana farm and an undercover refuge for those on the run. Will they ever get back home?

I received an arc of this book and voluntarily provided a review.

Welcome back for episode three of the Dora & Evie show! Y’all I’m starting to feel like this is the test script for a new WB tv show and we’re the lucky screening panel.
Evie & Dora arrived in Calli to questions but few answers..at least at first. The girls are going to have to earn their Buddha in multiple ways. As you can probably guess things don’t go at all as planned! But our heroines rise to the occasion once again. For any wondering the romance is still a background simmer. Dora can’t wait to return to Pensacola but they have one more stop to make....
See y’all in Montana!

These two ladies are having some very interesting adventures. A hippy farm and another murder investigation. Shovelling slop, gummy lollies and investigating go hand in hand this time. Along with the murder investigating some personal truths are also partially uncovered. Another interesting stop in the saga to clear Dora and Evie’s names

It is amazing how much trouble Dora and Evie can get themselves into trying to clear their names in a death that occurred in the first book in this series. I love all the running around in this one and how Sunshine seems to always know what they girls need or want. I thought this book was hiliarious in places and I am really into this series. I just can wait to see what is going to happen in Book 4.

Evie and Dora are yet again up to their necks in mayhem, cannabis and mystery. This should have been a simple task, retrieve the info and clear her name of murder. But with Evie and Dora things are never that simple and fate has once again stepped in with all her humor and chaos to give us another great installment to this fun and twisted tale of murder, adventure and jealousy. New state, new crime and riveting hilarity makes a compelling read.

A great adventure in California with lots of humor, a great page-turning mystery, lots of puppy love as Dora and Evie are still on their quest to prove Dora's innocence in a murder in Pensacola, Florida. I knew as soon as I started reading, I wouldn't be able to put this book down and really didn't want it to end. Can't wait for their next adventure. I received an advance reader copy of "Chaos in California" and am voluntarily leaving my review.
