The one woman this lone wolf can't resist... New Yorker Lena Castamolino has trouble. Big trouble. Every time the full moon shines, her body tries to turn into a wild beast, and she has no idea why. Her skin goes all leathery, and her shoulders begin the agonizing transformation into wings. Wings! Could it have to do with her recent move to Rome — a magical city that called to her for years? Or does the answer lie in the father who abandoned her at birth? Either way, she needs help, because all the grit and determination in the world can’t stop the moon — or the evil forces hot on her trail.
Rome may be known as the Eternal City, but eternal banishment is more like it for members of the despised Monseratti clan. But wolf shifter Sergio Monseratti has been granted one last chance to return to the city he loves, and he’s not about to blow it. “All” he has to do is bring down a ruthless mafia boss, and he can’t afford any distractions now. And he absolutely, positively cannot fall in love with the mysterious woman who could be the key to saving the city, no matter how high the passion between them builds.
Dazzling starlets, billionaire playboys, vengeful enemies, power-hungry dragons, secret heirs… It’s impossible to know who to trust, but one thing is for sure — destiny is on the move, and Rome is its stage.
Anna Lowe’s FIRE MAIDENS: Billionaires & Bodyguards series Danger lurks over Europe, where a ruthless dragon clan plots to seize power in the grandest, most glamorous cities. The guardians of old have summoned a new generation of shifter heroes to protect the castles, cathedrals, and cobblestoned streets of their ancestral homes — and to seek out the last of the Fire Maidens, women coveted by the dark lords for their royal blood. Those women are absolutely off-limits to the young warriors tasked with protecting them. But destiny, of course, has other ideas…

Join these strong heroines and their alpha heroes in atmospheric locales filled with danger & suspense!
USA Today and Amazon best-selling author Anna Lowe loves putting the "hero" back into heroine and letting location ignite a passionate romance. She likes a heroine who is independent, intelligent, and imperfect — a woman who's doing just fine on her own. But give the heroine a good man (not to mention a chance to overcome her own inhibitions) and she'll never turn down the chance for adventure, nor shy away from danger.
On any given weekend, you might find her hiking in the mountains or hunched over her laptop, working on her latest story. Either way, the day will end with a chunk of dark chocolate and a good read.
I am really enjoying this series, and this story does not disappoint. There is great action and very intense at several points in the story. The characters are wonderful. I wasn't sure from the previous books whether or not I was going to like Sergio, but I ended up loving him. His acceptance of his fate was immediate and I believe that is because he is a wolf shifter. It follows with what we have learned about the different shifters in this world. The only point I didn't like was her changing into a wolf shifter too, considering she is a dragon shifter. This point is quite confusing and there is no real explanation for it. It doesn't take away from the story, but leaves my mind wandering. The narrator is the same as the first two and she gives the same powerful performance as the last two.
Book 3 in Fire Maiden Rome by Anna Lowe Lena is a photograph and had been hire by a bibo celebrity to take shot of her with her new Italian hot guy but when she meets him Lena instantly doesn’t like him and get massive creepy vibes from him. While taking different photo in different locations in Rome Lena notices a very hot sexy bodyguard that knows what he’s doing and eventually catches his eye. Sergio is a wolf shifter with a very dodgy background and it is that gets himself hired by creepy guy to investigate him but while at the photo shoot Lena pulls out jewellery that she’d bought from antique shops or car boot to spice the pictures but when she touches one it flashes and warms to her touch. I loved that in this book Lena has already started having shifter problems and even though she doesn’t really know what’s going on she at least suspects there’s more to her then human. This book flowed so much nicer then others because Sergio didn’t have to convince her of being a shifter and Lena took everything in her stride. Absolutely love the narration by Kelsey Osborne. In this book she kept a mostly her American accent but just teased us with the fantastic Italian pronunciation every now and then which I loved. Can not wait for more in this series. Anna Lowe is always a winner for me.
Lena Castamolino has recently moved to Rome but every full moon her body tries to turn into a wild animal. She knows she needs help but doesn’t know who to turn to. Sergio Monserratti was banished from Rome because of his crime family. The Guardians only allow him to return to go undercover as a bodyguard to a criminal wolf shifter. After he meets Lena though he can’t stop thinking about her and will do anything to protect her.
I enjoyed this adventure through Rome. Lena and Sergio were a great couple and had great chemistry. Lena was a strong, caring, and determined woman. I wish I had the strength to move across the world and start over. Sergio is a well dressed wolf, who is very protective. Together these two fight to bring down a criminal wolf and stop the enemy dragons from invading Rome.
I really can’t wait to read the next book. I want to know more about Marco and see him find some love.

Tons of fun in this action-packed paranormal romance! Could have used a bit more depth but for a can’t-put-down page turner, this one is a sure a great way to spend the afternoon.
Fire Maidens: Rome is book three in the Billionaires & Bodyguards series and while it can be read as a standalone, I highly suggest you read all the books in the series in order. I personally feel like it makes the stories more enjoyable. This is Sergio and Lena's story! We first met Sergio in book two, Fire Maidens: London. I am super glad he has gotten his own happily ever after. As Always Anna has done a fantastic job writing a story with characters and places we love and want to visit because of the way she writes about the city. In this case I have been lucky enough to that I have visited Roma twice. So, while reading this book I felt like I got to visit Roma all over again.
Fire Maidens:Rome is book three in the Billionaires & Bodyguards series and it's a great addition! This is Sergio and Lena's story! We first met Sergio in book two, Fire Maidens:London, where he was a supporting character! I really loved him as the hero in this book!
Lena has just relocated to Rome-somewhere she has always wanted to live. She does photography primarily for tourists and bridal parties to pay the bills. Hoping to one day have her work published, she has lots of spare time to photograph the sites with her unique perspective. Things are going well until her body started doing some pretty spectacular things. None of this was going on prior to her coming to Rome. She is caught mid-shift one night by Sergio. He was there to let his wolf run free for awhile. He shifts back to a human and offers Lena his help. She understands that she is shifting, but she doesn't know why? Something with her Mom or maybe her Dad? He was not around throughout her life, so she has no clues about him. Lena doesn't know what to make of it that's for sure. Sergio is there to help!
I thoroughly enjoyed this book! Lots of romance, suspense, and intrigue that the series is known for! Lena and Sergio have some serious chemistry!! I found the idea of Lena's awakening as a shifter a totally different and interesting angle. Most all shifters know what they are from birth so this was refreshing. The Guardians of Rome sure are an eclectic bunch they are! True to the set up of the series, each council is headed by a woman! I am especially drawn to that!
If you have the chance, grab this audiobook and dive in! It is definitely worth the treat as Kelsey Osbourne takes us on a fantastic journey in Anna's book! She brings a vividness you just don't always achieve while reading yourself!
Anna does a great job by giving us the groundwork for the next book in the series! I look forward to seeing how the hero will handle the Guardians, the enemies, and of course, his Fire Maiden!!
I was gifted a copy of this book by the author. The review and ratings are my opinion.
omg anna does such an amazing job with her stories.. she is one of the few MF authors i look forward to everytime she releases a new one. this was amazing..it was well written and had an amazing weave of characters and plot.. magic and mayhem..love and sadness.. so many complex emotions and personalities.. and it was all thrown into this fast paced and wonderful story that keeps you reading until its over. i cannot wait for the next one. amazing!
Lena is a photographer and she recently moved to Rome for she dreams of living in the city. However, she discovered that her body keeps changing into something that she does not seem to understand why it happens. Her body hurts as it her hands turn into claws but she struggles to fight against it in fear that people will see. Suddenly, she sees that a wolf is standing near her and then he shifted back into human. He tells her that it will be okay to shift until she decides to run away when he turned his back to catch another wolf nearby. Sergio is one of the Guardians and he cannot get his mind over the woman he saw at the park. Then, he unexpectedly sees her again and his wolf recognizes that the woman is his mate. His family was in the mafia clan and they are banished in Rome for life until he was told of a job to stay closely to Vicente. He had a meeting with the Guardians and he mentioned that As he makes his rounds, he heads to Lena's apartment to talk to her. Lena has to take Amber's photoshoot for she needs the money to pay for bills. When her friend offers to have another session, she agrees to go which makes Sergio go with her too. Sergio is surprised when he sees that it was Lena who made the necklace glow and he learns that she is the Fire Maiden they are looking for. He decides to wait for a while so he can leave the yatch with Lena without raising any suspicions. However, the Fire Maiden is in danger as enemies want to capture her to gain power so that they can rule the city. A man who was banished in Rome has been called to return at his home. His wolf meets a woman who is his mate, but can they manage to protect themselves at what things await? The book is amazing and it has so many twists that you will not be expecting. The plot is good and I like how the author vividly described the Rome as if I was exploring the city itself. The characters have a great chemistry and I love how they have an open communication with each other. Lena is a brave, fierce, honest, independent, detail oriented, creative, and a passionate woman. Sergio is a strong, honorable, respectful, honest, and a dedicated man. I enjoyed reading the story and I love how Lena and Sergio have a HEA ending together as mates
Fire Maidens: Rome is the third title in the Fire Maidens / Billionaires & Bodyguards series – and Sergio and Lena’s story has a few unique qualities to it that immediately captured my imagination.
If you’ve followed the series so far then you’ll recognize Sergio’s last name. It’s interesting to see him get a chance at redemption for his family’s actions and perhaps find his own place in this city he loves so much. Lena is starting over in Rome, a fresh start for a woman who is beginning to experience odd sensations, burning pain from wings that couldn’t possibly exist, an inner voice speaking to her to let go and trust in her other self, and a drawing to a stranger’s voice even as she runs from him and what she is. So Lena begins this Rome adventure with an idea of what she is but is refusing to entertain the possibility for she has no idea that shifters exist – until she proved to be one.
The action is fast-paced, the sizzle between Lena and Sergio hot enough to burn, mixed in with vile villains, unexpected allies in high places, and a secondary character cast that I adored. Fire Maidens: Rome was everything I’d hoped it would be… and more. I absolutely loved the epilogue, so fitting for this unique Fire Maiden and her mate. Now on to Marco’s story which is certain to break my heart before healing it up once again… that’s what these characters have always done for me.
I read this title through my Kindle Unlimited subscription.
Thank you for yet another wonderful story in this new series. Loved Elena and Sergio. How they just knew, so early and then the journey to get there. I will admit I cringed at Amber's character! I can't stand people like that but then they reap what they sew. :) I liked the Guardians in this book, a better lot despite grievances from the past. I also enjoyed the little twists from the little extra side story that I already had. Folks, you will just need to read this, then that. It was so good! Elena's gift is that of a Seer. Or in some ways I felt, an Empath. She just knows and her first meeting of the 'bad' guy said it all! Sergio has to deal also with his own past, or that of his family. All is revealed as you read but he does carry a weight on his shoulders as he learns to accept and eventually move on. They are a great couple. Sergio helps Elena to adjust and accept the future they will share. I am voluntarily reviewing a book gifted to me by the author with no obligation. I just happen to love all her books. Getting lost in her worlds for a few hour or more.. as is sometimes the case with several books read in an afternoon/evening.
When I am having trouble to decide on a genre or book to read – to get me back in the swing of it, I turn to a group of authors that I can always trust to bring me out of a rut, and Anna Lowe is on that list. This is the third book in this series, and it’s just as good, or even better than the first two. I read this book in a day, that’s how hard it was to put down. Our Fire Maiden in this is Lena, who has no idea of the shifter world or supernaturals, but you can see some of her abilities from the beginning, even if she can’t by being able to see the true souls of people.
This a great romance, with Sergio and Lena, and seeing the major action scene is a nail biter, and when Lena shifts for the first time, I felt like I was there watching it all unfold in person. Action, discovery, love and loyalty. It’s all in these books, and I just “know’ the next book has to be about one of my favorite supporting characters from this book, Marco, and I can’t wait to read it.
Another city, another fire maiden needs to be found to fight against the chaos. Lena comes to Rome as a photographer and her latest client brings her into the world of the city's most powerful mafia family. Sergio is tasked with monitoring the activity of the mafia and is surprised to find his mate there of all places. Sergio and Lena are less flashy than previous couples in this series. Their story is about facing the roadblocks in their past and mind, rather than a plot with a lot of action. Fav Quote: Love, hope, and happiness weren’t measured by volume. They could be whispered, and the sentiment would be just as strong.
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ - I can't stop daydreaming and telling everyone about this book. ⭐⭐⭐⭐ - A great read with all the feels. I would read again. ⭐⭐⭐ - I liked the book but wouldn't it read again. ⭐⭐ - Usually in the DNF pile or I suffered until the end for whatever reason. ⭐- Just no.
I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book. This story really made me want to visit Rome. Sergio and Lena’s story starts off slow and builds but once it picked up its momentum, it was off to the races! You can’t help but feel for Sergio. He tries so hard to escape his past only to have it constantly confront him at seemingly every turn. Thankfully, Lena’s no wilting lily. She’s smart, strong, capable, and thoughtful. She has the ability to see past what others appear to be on the surface. I liked that the Guardians in Rome weren’t so high-handed and stuffy, unlike their English and French counterparts. Also, what’s not to love about how steadfast the guys are in helping their friends despite their internal struggles? I’m really hoping for a satisfying story for Marco, our Portuguese dragon. He’s earned it. Those Lombardis, though. . .
Lena Castamolino is a dragon shifter Sergio Monseratti after the foreign Legion came to Rome to be a protector for the guardians of Rome.He vowed to prove he wasn't his family that he had honor. When he sees Lena on trouble he goes to keep her safe. There is danger coming for Lena because she is a Fire !aiden only she doesn't know it.Sergio knows she's his mate after first seeing the she dragon. The guardian are trying to take his mate but Lena let's them know in no uncertain terms that he is her mate am they had better except it.There are so many twists and turns to this story will keep you riveted until the very last page and leave you begging for more.I love the way this amazing author brings the characters to life before your eyes and makes you feel their emotions and their pain.I can hardly wait to see what's next by this multi talented author.
Sergio is a wolf shifter trying to correct problems from his past. He wants to prove to the Guardians of Rome that he is responsible and can be counted on the protect Rome. When Lena arrives in Rome her body starts changing into something she does not recognize and she does not know why. Sergio decides to help her when he sees her changing. Right after their first meeting things start to get complicated and they have to work together to stay safe.
The characters are interesting and well developed. This is another great addition to the series. They all have been filled with suspense, excitement, and romance. I have become a big fan of Anna's books and really enjoy reading them. I look forward to the next story.
I knew I was going to love this one, Sergio is my favourite so far. The start of this book is very different to the previous 2 books, I won't say more because I don't want to spoil it. Our main woman is feisty and determined, I really loved how strong and independent she is. I also really loved the friendship between Sergio and Marco, those 2 worked perfectly as a team. The storyline is extremely engaging, and yet again the narrator did a fantastic job performing this book. I am on buying these books on my kindle because I absolutely enjoyed the first 3, and I'm so excited for the others. It's something new and different, the story is well paced. This is an incredible shifter romance series, I would highly recommend the audiobook version it's done extremely well.
There is definitely a formula to the books in this series. Fire Maiden is drawn to the city that they are supposed to protect and their protector is their mate. (the protector, conveniently, is introduced in the prior book in the series.) That doesn't take away from how fun these books are. I cheered when Lena came into her own. I swooned when Sergio fell for Lena and she for him. I laughed at some of the antics of the supporting characters. And I adored mention of one of my favorite cities in Europe. Overall, a fun, well rounded story that brings you right into the awesome European cities. Full of fun, a bit of action and plenty of fated mate romances, Anna Lowe is fantastic at bringing the us readers wonderful shifter romances.
Sergio has tried to rise above the criminal ways the rest of his family embraced. The Guardians of Rome reluctantly allow him to prove his worth by infiltrating the enemy's camp. Fate shines on him when the assignment puts him in the path of his true mate. Lena isn't sure why she's drawn to Rome or Sergio but both capture her heart. Sergio's torn between wanting her and knowing he's not good enough for her especially when he realizes she's a Fire Maiden. Her value does not escape the notice their enemy but Sergio will lay down his life to protect his mate. Action, romance and sexy times abound as they fight for their HEA and Rome's future
Fire Maidens:Rome was dramatic and old world mystery wrapped into one. This is the story that makes you want to keep reading and urging Sergio and Lena on towards a happy ever after. Immediately you have Lena who is compelled to be pleasant to the clients when all she really wants is to be free to express her talent. Sergio is the mystery to her, is he good or bad? He’s helping her with all of her new experiences. As Sergio and Lena traversed Rome and faced challenges and passions, you are along for the ride. It is a fun read that takes you through Europe as part of the Fire Maidens.
While I like the concept of this series, I’m beginning to find the characters a bit repetitive. Guy finds mate then finds out she’s the fire maiden and loses his mind because he’ll never be allowed to have her. She falls for him, they go through some battle then confront the guardians about living their own lives while still being fire maidens. The exact scenarios vary but that is more or less what each book has been. I liked Sergio and Lena. They were a good couple. Her seer skills were a real help getting him to relax enough to let her in.
Lena felt Rome calling to her for years. Sergio the ex-solder returned to his homeland for redemption. Lena the photographer meets Sergio by chance and sparks fly. Great action and chemistry throughout kept me spellbound. Once again the Guardians tried to attract the Fire Maiden into the open with some unexpected twists. Good friends and old allies help save the day. I look forward to Marco getting his attitude adjustment and HEA. I read this using my KU subscription.
Sergio has returned to Rome for a job, at least he was able to return.
Lena had this desire to go to Rome. A crazy man was after her, saying she'll be his?? That was craziness. Her job ended, so to Rome it is. She was good at photography, it paid the bills. Bumping into a yummy man was a perk. Someone she can't stop fantasizing about. Destiny was about to play its hand for these two.
Fire Maidens: Rome, book 3 of Anna Lowe's Billionaires and Bodyguards series is full of amazing detail. The setting in Rome is described so well that you can see it. The views and places that draw you in and hold your attention. The characters are from one extreme to another. This series gets better with each new book.
Fire Maidens: Rome (Billionaires & Bodyguards Book 3) by Anna Lowe. New Yorker Lena feels an overwhelming need to move to Rome. There she meets wolf shifter Sergio and something inside her says mate. As they get to know each other there are evil forces after her as well because she is a Fire Maiden.
Loving this series and can't wait to read more loved the storyline and the characters so it's a well deserved five stars and I would recommend this book to everyone
a great book which made me feel i was in rome i loved it the characters are well described and detailed the book flowed effortlessly and didnt make me back track to see if i missed anything the auther writes an amazing book
Series has everything laughter love intrigue fighting and suspense join this couple and all the others in the series for a fantastic ride into a happily ever after.
This book was very good. It was well written and very realistic. It had a couple of plot twists that I wasn't expecting. It is very easy to put yourself in the characters shoes and let the story take you away from reality for a while.
This was a really good story - it has a great balance of action, danger, seeing the sights of Rome, and romance! I really liked the main characters, and I enjoyed their path to HEA!
