City girl Jennifer Page works sixteen-hour days and has little time for love. But when her best friend proposes they go on a blind double date, Jennifer doesn’t hesitate to say yes. What’s better for her overworked soul than time with her best friend, a new sushi restaurant, and a cute guy?
Outdoor adventurist Dylan Douglas is surprised when his blind date shows up for whitewater rafting dressed to the nines in high heels. Turns out the only experience she has with the outdoors is when she almost got eaten by a bear as a kid. Despite the mix-up, Jennifer continues with the date and Dylan admires her spunk.
Jennifer and Dylan have little in common, but he turns out to be fun and insightful. As they spend time together, Jennifer realizes an adventurist girl has been hiding inside her this whole time. Will their differences tear them apart or teach them that a rafting disaster can turn into the love of a lifetime?
SUSAN HATLER is a New York Times and USA TODAY bestselling author, who writes humorous and emotional contemporary romance and young adult novels. Many of Susan’s books have been translated into German, Spanish, French, and Italian. A natural optimist, she believes life is amazing, people are fascinating, and imagination is endless. She loves spending time with her characters and hopes you do, too.
Can I just start by saying that life has been a little (or rather a lotta) crazy lately. Just busy schedules, lots of things happening and some hard things happening too. Everything will be fine but you know when you have those moments and they just keep coming and all you need is something to distract and help you escape and relax so that you're ready to keep going and facing everything that's coming. This book filled that need completely! I gobbled it up. It was just what the doctor ordered...so to speak.
I can always count on Susan Hatler to deliver some deliciously fun and clean romance with characters who have plenty of humor. Her characters are real in the sense that they aren't always perfectly put together and they're running and encountering the busyness and craziness of life just like the rest of us humans. I know when I pick up one of her books I'm going to have plenty of giggles, swoony sighs and yes...even some cringes of embarrassment.
Jennifer is kind of a mess. She's got a lot of irons in the fire and she's not one to easily let go and live adventurously. And this double date she agrees to turns out to be different than she thought and it just keeps throwing more and more adventure in her face from the get go. Oh my heavens! I love to highlight my books; lines that are funny, scenes that are sweet and romantic, deep and thoughtful phrases and scenes that move me emotionally. Yellow is my color for humor. If you were to scroll through the pages of this book, you would see a whole lotta yellow! I'm still giggling over it.
Dylan is a perfect opposite for Jennifer. I loved their wit and humor. I loved the sparks between them. And I absolutely loved how the two of them balanced each other out, helping them find strength and a better perspective for things in their lives. *Happy sigh*
If you're a Susan Hatler fan, check out this fun new series by her. If you've never picked up her books but love characters full of wit, humor and flying sparks, I highly recommend checking out any of her books. This one is another win for me!

I received a copy from the author. All thoughts and opinions in the review are my own.
What happens when you're completely overworked and have no time for life? Disaster. I was completely embarrassed for Jennifer, as mistake after misunderstanding happened when she finally made time for a date, but I couldn't stop laughing.
Jennifer is a workaholic and Dylan, her blind date, was very, very good for her. I loved how opposite they were and how Dylan helped Jennifer see that there's more to life than work. I also loved that Jennifer could laugh at herself and not take herself too seriously.
Once again, Susan Hatler delivers a hilarious romantic comedy that brings both laughter and swoons to the reader. This short little morsel was the perfect afternoon diversion and I look forward to more.
Content: mild romance

What a great way to relax with this cute and clean romance from Susan Hatler. Jennifer and Dylan will make your day. They are total opposites but are so cute together. They really balance each other out and make an adorable couple. The book has lots of cute humor, hilarious banter and no shortage of quick wit. Things get interesting when the city girl meets the wilderness. The book is well written and the characters are adorable. I read a complimentary copy via the author and voluntarily chose to write a review.
This sweet, opposites attract romance was a joy to read! The book was full of humor, adventure and romance. The characters were amazing and so entertaining. I enjoyed seeing them grow throughout the book. This is a really enjoyable romantic comedy. I absolutely loved it!

Pollice in su! <3
There were so many “funny”, depending upon which side of the date you were on, scenes on this first date that I don’t know where to start. When Jennifer Page arrives at what she thinks is a sushi date…in stilettos…and it gets funnier from there. Poor Jennifer – she is SUCH a city girl, desperately out of place in the wilderness – but she sure does try to get past her hang-ups. And Dylan Douglas, outdoor adventurer extraordinaire, is the person Jennifer is meeting for this “sushi” date, that is actually nothing close to a restaurant date. It is so much funnier when the author describes it but trust me, you will laugh.
Both Dylan and Jennifer need to work out issues from their pasts in order to move ahead but it is fascinating to watch them deal with their wants, and needs, and wishes. The supporting characters are great, too, and they make you wish you had such crazy, good friends. I like both of these characters and although they each had some “boy” and “girl” moments, they were always good people, to their very souls. There is a defining moment for Jennifer, very near the end, that is both courageous, absolutely crazy (imho), funny and touching. Fun, quick read for me.
Here is a summary of what the book is about. City girl Jennifer Page works sixteen-hour days and has little time for love. But when her best friend proposes they go on a blind double date, Jennifer doesn’t hesitate to say yes. What’s better for her overworked soul than time with her best friend, a new sushi restaurant, and a cute guy?

I thought this was cute sweet story. I could not put it down. Susan Hatler is a wonderful writer. I just love her books. I am looking forward to reading the rest of the books in this series.
This story is absolute liss. It is captivating and intriguing. The characters are easy to imagine and a lot of fun. They both grow throughout the story. I usually like having both perspectives of the story but I really enjoyed this book. I have literally enjoyed every book by Susan Hatler and this one did not disappoint.
The story follows Jennifer. She is an entrepreneur who wants to leave her day job and make her own business. After a long day of work, she heads over to a blind date that her friend set up only to find it wasn’t Whitewater Sushi and was Whitewater Rafting. Despite being a city girl with the only memory of nature being a bear almost eating her, she continues on the journey with her friend, her friend’s date, and her date, Dylan. He turns out to be super adventurous due to a sickness that almost took his life. Even though the first date didn’t go as planned, they go on another one. And start really enjoying themselves. But they still have insecurities about their relationships and themselves.
I wrote this voluntary review in exchange for an ARC copy.
This was a short, clean, funny book that I could not put down. While Jennifer found herself in some true "fish out of water" situations (i.e. whitewater rafting in designer heels thinking she was going out for sushi) that were hysterically funny she also had a deeper connection with Dylan that I really enjoyed. She was an uptight fearful "city girl" working 24/7 trying to launch her new business venture and he was a "free spirit adventurer" looking to find his life's purpose they had great chemistry, really communicated and "got" each other. Because of their ability to truly communicate with each other their characters grew throughout the story in enjoyable ways that kept me involved in their outcomes. This book is part of a series and some of the characters do repeat but you do not have to read them all or in order to enjoy them.
I received an ARC of this book from the author and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Jennifer is an entrepreneur who likes to dress well with expensive shoes and Dylan is an adventurer who enjoys the outdoors and has spend the past few years exploring the world for work. Knowing how Jennifer is I don’t know why Hannah would think white water rafting would be a good first double date for them. I’ve always wanted to try it, but I think I’d run if someone sprung it on me as date especially when I was dressed up. Dylan and Jennifer have one mishap after another on their dates and she starts to wonder if he’s worth the risk. But he does make her realize how important it is to hold fast to what you want and not just give in to others demands.
Loved it... Jennifer is a city girl through and through. She agreed to go on a double date but somehow got the details all mixed up and ended up totally out of her comfort zone. Dylan, her date is her opposite in ever way. He’s adventurous and she likes to keep both high heels firmly on the ground. They are perfect for each other... I received a free copy of this book. This is the story of Jennifer and Dylan. Jennifer is a city girl who goes on a blind date dressed up with high heels and the whole nine yards. Dylan is an outdoorsman who is on the same blind date, only problem is the date is white water rafting. This is the story of city girl and outdoorsman colliding. This is a warm and witty story of two different people. This is Susan Halter at it's best.

When Jennifer agreed to take a moment from her busy life and go on a double date she did not expect the adventure she was about to go on. This is a sweet romantic story that will make you laugh as things get out of hand when her date is the opposite of what she is use to.
If your idea of fun is sitting on the couch or the great out door adventure this is a great book to get lost in page after page.

Thanks to an email mishap, Jennifer thinks she's joining friends for a double date at a sushi restaurant. In fact, they're going whitewater rafting. Which is inconvenient because (1) Jennifer is starving, (2) she's wearing a dress and high heels, and (3) she's expecting an important call from a business investor. After borrowing a change of clothes, Jennifer quickly adjusts, impressing blind date Dylan with her willingness to go with the flow. But will getting stranded in the middle of nowhere cost her the business deal she's spent months developing?
This is classic rom com, with its share of zany adventures and physical humor. Dylan helps Jennifer break out of her rut, try new things, and develop the confidence to demand what she wants in life. It was satisfying to watch her transformation.
Thanks, NetGalley, for the ARC I received. This is my honest and voluntary review.
This was a short, fun read. Started off well with the hilarious misunderstanding over the blind date and continued to build upon the humour and growing attraction between the two seemingly opposite characters throughout, despite various other challenging dates and circumstances.

Blind dates can be great or can be a total disaster! But even being a disaster, they might end being fun, and developing friendships. The plot in this story is that of opposites attract, and it works in fiction and in real life. The main characters could not be more different and even so, they could not be more perfect for each other. There are quite a few twists and turns, unexpected moves, but the story is fast-paced and keeps the reader motivated till the end. Very entertaining and leaves food for thought regarding decisions we take in life.

I really love Susan Hatler’s books, but this one got me in stitches. The dates where hilarious, I couldn’t stop laughing at their situations. Dylan and Jennifer has great chemistry. I think you’ll enjoy this book!

Jennifer is a City girl trying to start her own business while also working her regular full time job. Dylan is a nature lover taking her on a outdoors double date. What are the chances this won’t end in a disaster?

witty, vulnerable, sharply written, accessible and easy to read romantic story. Jennifer, always on the safe side meets Dylan, who wants to live life in all its aspects. Through him she learns to dare more and she finally dares to take the step with him (even after a number of failed dates) Exceptionally well-written book by an author that almost always have great books anyway. Loveable characters.

Jennifer is overworked when her friend suggests a double date with her and her husband. Expecting dinner at a sushi restaurant, she dresses up and surprise - they are going rafting with a very outdoorsy type hunk. Luckily Jennifer decides to go for it and the hilarity ensues. The characters are terrific, with great backstories, strength and determination in their goals. Changing their goals is what this story is about as they affect each other into thinking about their lives a little differently. Loved the banter and situations that come about. This story puts a smile on my face and a good mood in your heart. The ending is great. I really love this series and hope it continues for quite a while.

This is the second book in Susan Hatler's do over date's series. I really enjoyed reading about Jennifer and Dylan. They both have reasons for being the way they are. I love that Jennifer stuck to her guns when it came to her business and what she wanted from it. She did not change her vision even when she might lose her one investor. Dylan had something happen that caused him to want to finish his bucket list and really live. I really enjoyed this book.

I’m just going to say, to read this author is to love this author! And, this is another great story! She writes such good books with good storylines and great characters, you can’t help but falling in love with them. And, Jennifer and Dylan are no exception! The comedy, the sweetness! I love a book I can literally just enjoy from start to finish and this book does that!

I received a copy of this book from the author for review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Let me start off by saying I CANNOT believe it took me as long as it did to read a book this short and that is no reflection on the content. Life was CRAZY the past few months. Between being sick for months, having a medical procedure and an insane number of doctors' appointments, the holidays being exceptionally stressful/dramatic, gutting and remodeling our ONLY bathroom (and having our water heater die a few days in), and battling depression through all of it-let's just say it has not been a great time.
This story, however, WAS a great time. Jennifer is hilarious and exceptionally relateable since I'm not much of an outdoorsy girl myself. She is a bit of a mess, but has goals and dreams she is working to achieve. Dylan is adorable and charming. He is a spontaneous adventurer content to fly by the seat of his pants as opposed to Jennifer's buttoned-up business woman working to become a boss babe in her own right and on her own terms. They are a classic example of opposites attracting and each brings out sides of the other that they did not even know they had as they change and grow throughout the course of the story.
I enjoyed reading the characters in this story, both on their own and as part of this larger ongoing series. I cannot wait to see where Susan Hatler takes us in future installments and who we will get to meet and/or learn more about as the side characters become main characters with their own stories.
If you, like me, could use more light, sweet romances to get lost in, then Susan Hatler is your gal and this series in particular may be just what you need!
I love how Susan Hatler writes her stories and characters. This story is a hilarious story about date disaster for Jennifer as a totally misunderstanding in what they were doing on the double date. Jennifer is the total opposite of Dylan, he loves the outdoors and she wears high heels. This book is really entertaining and humorous. A must read for laughter and fun!

Do-Over Date Romantic Comedy This fun rom-com series is about second chances. In this novella, the second chances also include facing our personal fears and standing up for what we really want. This is a fun and clean story that the reader will smile and giggle through. This is written by one of my favorite authors who always delivers a great story that paints a smile on your heart.
I have to say that I truly loved this book. I loved all the characters so much. Dylan and Jennifer's story was a great one with lots of reminders of what is truly important in life, along with tons of laughs. It has romance, chemistry, and a HEA ending. What more could you ask for. It was a great read that I believe everyone will enjoy. Happy reading.
