This book is written 15 years ago, and although its topic is one of the fastest improving scientific discoveries, it is not outdated. Book mostly talks about the life of James Watson, who alongside Francis Krik and Rosalind Franklin discovered double helix structure of DNA molecule. It also speaks about historical events that followed this beautiful discovery, and from time to time, looks back at Erwin Schrodingers book "What is life". It also provides basic scientific details about DNA structure and biochemical processes. If you're looking for historical background of DNA molecule, or you're laymen in fields of molecular biology or genetics, this might be a good read to explore. On the other hand if you are more advanced reader, looking for more of a scientific approach to the science of genetics, you would probably want to skip this read. Anyway, it's enjoyable book.
