Damn...This is definitely a hard-hitting children's book that simultaneously explains/represents sadness after a break-up of parents quite well and I'm honestly shocked at how well this sadness was handled, especially at the end.

It's so sad that this is quite an unknown children's book.

It's also important to note that this is supposedly the first children's book that shows a same-sex relationship.

Honestly, I absolutely recommend this book! The illustrations might not be for everyone, but this book definitely is worth your time.

Originally published in 1979, this groundbreaking picture book features the separation between two women and how a child's life- and her mom's- suddenly gets uprooted. Quite powerful.
