Very good local analysis of vortices (solutions of Ginzburg-Landau equations over complex plane) and monopoles (solutions of Bogomolnyi equation over R3).
Probably a more recent reference would treat the solutions more intrinsically, but still a very valuable source, especially on gluing construction.
