This book reads like a jumble of factoids interspersed with occasional historical digressions; it is not a serious attempt to articulate a shared Buddhist-Christian spirituality or form of life. This is almost certainly in part because of the dual authorship; on the other hand, it is also surely because there is no such shared spirituality or form of life. This is an important fact about the relationship between Buddhism and Christianity, and it deserves a more serious treatment than it’s given here.
