Darcy's Good Intentions: A Pride and Prejudice Variation

Rate this book
Elizabeth Bennet is staying at Netherfield Park as her sister prepares to marry Mr. Bingley. Mr. Darcy was set in his ways and could think of no cause to change them. But Elizabeth disagreed, eliciting a promise from him that he would in no way try to manage or inconvenience her during her stay at Netherfield. Darcy had not taken into account Elizabeth's spirited independence. And Elizabeth had equally misjudged Darcy's good intentions.

Characters did not seem true to canon.
Jane afraid of Caroline
Darcy determined not to marry

And why were Jane and Elizabeth staying at Netherfield before Jane was married? (no, not the "trifling cold" incident)

Meh!

I forced myself through over 400 pages before I have up! 400 pages of not knowing why Jane has backbone with everyone except Caroline, Why despite convention of the time Jane is spending the days before her wedding living at Netherfeild, or what motivates anyone to behave so differential than they where created by JA. The whole left by all the unanswered questions make this an indifferent read at best.

Too many unanswered questions.

Why were Lizzie and Jane living at Netherfield? Where were the rest of their family? Why was the story resolved so quickly?
