In the story, Amy and Jamie are going to stay at their uncle's new hotel that he just built. But, the manor is haunted by spirits that used to live there. Amy can communicate with spirits, and her and her brother try and help out the spirits in the house pass on to the afterlife. They go around and ask about spirits from town people, and the even try talking to the spirits directly. Amy also uses her spirit friend Jeb, who helps them along the way. But, while their trying to help the spirits pass on, the old owner of the manor, Saskia Vandermeer, her spirit ties to stop them. I think this book is very good, a lot of times I just read a few pages of a book then get bored of it, but this book was very interesting and kept me engaged in the reading. This book had horror, adventure, and action. All around, this book was in my top 5 favorite reads of all time.

A fast, easy read. I liked this series as a kid, and found it just as entertaining now.

I read this book by candlelight in the month of October . . . . . now how fun is that? Bookworms, this book should be on your 'must read' list. I do believe in ghosts; I do believe in ghosts, and you will too after you spend a few minutes with the three spirits of Vandermeer Manor. Author Mary Anderson weaves an interesting ghost story with history and suspense. Kids and big kids will enjoy the tale.
