Explore the Crown of the Continent
Beautiful, informative, and guide to Glacier National Park in northwestern Montana. Plan a trip to this fantastic, unspoiled, and one of the last places to visit that harkens back to the original geology and history of the area. Originally sculpted by ice-age glaciers, Glacier National Park is home to grizzly bears and wolves, bighorn sheep and mountain goats, spectacular scenery and amazing architectural and engineering achievements. Archival images from the park's past, and stunning photographs by some of the west's best contemporary photographers fill the readers imagination and longing to see the park in all its glory. There is something for everyone and once you arrive at the park there are multiple ways and levels of involvement from the Going to the Sun Highway by vehicle or on foot on the many trails within the park.
This book is a great starting point in planning a trip to Glacier National Park and would whet the appetite to explore for anyone wanting to get outdoors into the splendor of this area.

First of all, I love that this book is produced and printed in the United States of America. Thank you, Farcountry Press of Helena, Montana.

Full of great information, this book is perfect for someone who is getting ready to take a trip to Glacier National Park and for Montanans who have been many times. There is a nice map on the first page.

I especially enjoyed reading the "Geology" and "Peopling the Park" chapters. Also, I had never heard of the "Ghost Forest" and really want to go see it now.
