Interesting in the parts that were actually about the specific histories of Palestinian Christians and the organizations of Christian churches in Palestine & discussion of the roles they have played in the liberation movement, and often on the revolutionary vanguard — but 2/3rds of the book was a very generalist very familiar history starting from Herzl -> Balfour -> Nakba -> 67 -> Oslo. Also quoted Israeli scholarship 10x more than Palestinian, an interesting choice - of course there is much more Israeli academic scholarship than Palestinian but still. Definitely could have gone more into liberation theology, & about how modern Palestinians see Christian identity
The book was published in the early 00s at the height of the second Intifada. Interesting to see what has and hasn’t changed at all
