Doug is Professor of Philosophy in the Talbot Department of Philosophy at Biola University (La Mirada, CA). His interests include travel, foreign languages, kayaking, and motorcycling.

این کتاب مجموعه‌ی جالبیه از مقالاتی که در له و علیه خداباوری توسط افراد مختلف نوشته شده. هر متفکری دلایل خودش رو در قالب کفتمان فلسفی شرح می‌ده و تقریبا مقاله‌ها یکی در میان در له و علیه خداباوری نوشته شدن. همین کتاب رو جالب‌تر و خوندنی‌تر می‌کنه. من واقعا بعضی‌مواقع نمی‌تونستم کتاب رو زمین بذارم و خیلی برام جالب بود. بیشتر ادبیات موضوع نظرم رو جلب کرد. به این معنا که اگر یه روز بخوام با شیوه‌ای درست درباره‌ی این موضوع نظرم رو بگم با خوندن این کتاب بهتر از پسش بر میام و می‌دونم چطور صغری‌کبری بچینم و فرایضم رو با نتیجه‌گیری‌هام خلط نکنم و سفسطه نکنم و بتونم سفسطه‌های طرف مقابلم رو تشخیص بدم.
به هر حال که خوندن کتاب رو برای باز کردن دید نسبت به موضوع جالب خدا باوری یا ناباوری در فلسفه به شدت پیشنهاد می‌کنم.

ترجمه‌ی یک مجموعه مقاله‌ی کامل خیلی پدیده‌ی رایجی در نشر ایران نیست و یک جذابیت این ترجمه همین است.
من ترجمه را با متن اصلی تطبیق نداده‌ام اما اصطلاح‌گزینی‌ها و روانی متن به‌نظر من خیلی خوب است.
به‌خاطر این دو ویژگی دلم نیامد امتیاز پایین‌تر بدهم.
اما من انتخاب مقالات ادیتورها را اصلا نپسندیدم. مقاله‌های خوب در موضوع معرفت‌شناسی دین لابد کم نیست اما ادیتورها تلاش زیادی به‌خرج داده‌اند تا مقالات کم‌محتوا و ضعیف را پیدا و چاپ کنند. البته چند مقاله‌ی (برای من) نسبتا جذاب هم در این کتاب هست.
